FS25 Forestry Guide – How to Make Money Via Forestry in Farming Simulator 25

In Farming Simulator 25, forestry offers a profitable way to make money. Unlike crop farming, which requires significant investment in equipment, seeds, and fertilizers, logging demands far less preparation and machinery. By cutting down trees, processing them into timber, and exploring various production options, you can gradually grow your forestry business into a steady income stream. In this article, we will discuss how to earn by Forestry in Farming Simulator 25.

Forestry in Farming Simulator 25

Farming Simulator 25 features a detailed forestry and tree cultivation system, and logging is one of the best ways to earn money in FS25. It’s also less demanding than crop farming since preparing trees for harvest requires far fewer steps. For trees, you’ll need minimal machinery, which can be purchased with your starting budget. However, once you’ve chopped down your first trees, you’ll also need to learn how to replant them to ensure a steady, ongoing income.

Equipment

Head to the store and go to the “Forestry Equipment” section. You don’t need to invest in high-powered machinery, as most tree planters, like the Damcon PL-75, won’t hold a huge amount of seedlings at once. However, if you have a large truck, you can use it to transport a bigger load of seedlings to the planting site. You can find the saplings in the “Pallets” section under the “Tree Seedlings” subcategory. Simply select the type of tree you want to plant, hit “Enter”, and buy them. Here’s the basic equipment you’ll need to plant trees in Farming Simulator 25:

  • A tractor: This is essential, and you probably already have one. The tractor will be used to attach the tree planter. You don’t need anything too large; most mid-range tractors should work well, as long as they have the horsepower to pull the tree planter you choose.
  • Tree planter: This is the key piece of equipment. If you’re new to forestry, you won’t have one yet. The Damcon PL-75 is a solid choice for most players – it works well with most tractors and is great for planting all types of trees.
  • Front tractor weight: If you’re using a large tractor for planting, you probably won’t need this. But if you’re using a smaller tractor, a front weight is essential to prevent the tractor from tipping when pulling the planter.
  • Sapling transport vehicle: You’ll need something to transport your saplings. This can be as simple as a tractor with a trailer or even a car with a pickup bed.

Land

You can easily plant trees on any land you already own, even if it’s not fully prepared for farming. It doesn’t need to be cleared or ready for crops like wheat – any area will do, even if it’s overgrown or has bushes. As long as you own the land and have enough space to plant, you’re good to go. If you haven’t bought land yet, here’s how to do it: Open the map by pressing “M”, then press “X” to see the available plots for purchase. Your existing plots will be highlighted in green. To buy a new plot, click on it, then press the “spacebar” to complete the purchase.

Transport the Seedlings

You’ve got the equipment and the land – now it’s time to bring them together. Start by attaching the tree planter to your tractor. To do this, hop into the tractor, start the engine, and reverse so that the back of the tractor is close to the front of the planter. When you’re in position, a message will pop up on the screen indicating that the connection is possible. Press Q, and the two will connect automatically. If that doesn’t work, double-check that you’re approaching the planter from the correct side.

Now that your tractor and planter are ready, drive up to the pallets of seedlings. Get as close as you can, and wait for the message to appear. Once it does, press R, and the seedlings will automatically load into the planter. If you have a large enough machine to hold a lot of seedlings, you can simply load them all up and head straight to the planting area.

Planting Trees

In Farming Simulator 25, there’s a wide variety of trees to choose from, each with its own characteristics, such as growth time, height, and timber price. Some trees, like poplar, are only useful for making poplar bales, while others like birch or oak are versatile and can be used to create a range of products, such as furniture, making their timber easier to sell. The main tree types available in the game include Oak, Willow, Maple, Common Pine, Spruce, Birch, Poplar, and several others, each with unique growth rates (ranging from 1 to 5 game years) and planting preferences.

Once you’ve reached your planting location, plan your route – either manually or with the help of the Farming Simulator 25 GPS tool. Press the V key to lower the planter and set it to its working position. Start the planter by pressing the B key. As you move forward, try to keep your lines as straight as possible. The straighter the lines, the more evenly spaced your trees will be. This helps ensure they grow properly, with the ideal distance between trees being around 5 meters for most varieties.

When you need to turn to start a new row, temporarily stop planting by pressing the B key again. This will prevent you from wasting seedlings while making turns. Once the turn is complete, press B to resume planting. Keep an eye on your seedling supply and fuel levels. If you’re running low, you can stop the planter, lift it with the V key, and take care of other tasks before continuing.

How to Earn through Forestry in Farming Simulator 25

You can earn by forestry with the least investment. Logging is one of the ways which is a highly profitable activity that doesn’t require a huge initial investment to get started. Unlike animals or crops, trees don’t need constant care, fertilizing, or soil management. While the trees grow, you can focus on other aspects of your farm. Unlike crops, wood doesn’t spoil, so you can store it and wait for the best market prices.

Logging

Logging has long been one of the most reliable and profitable ways to make money in Farming Simulator 25. One of the main benefits of logging is that wood doesn’t spoil, allowing you to store it for as long as needed and wait for the best market prices. Plus, there are multiple ways to sell wood – in the form of logs, planks, and furniture.

Getting started in logging is simple and doesn’t require a large initial investment. You can begin with just a chainsaw and basic transport equipment, gradually upgrading to more powerful machinery as your business grows. The key to success is having the right tools to handle the heavy lifting, especially when it comes to loading and transporting large logs. Logging offers a stable and low-cost way to earn money, with the potential to scale into a thriving business, such as a sawmill, all while giving you flexibility in how you use and sell your wood.

Selling Timber

The core of the forestry business in Farming Simulator 25 is selling timber, and the more processed the wood is, the higher the price. For instance, a fully grown tree can be cut down and turned into planks, which can bring in a solid profit. If you prefer less work, you can sell whole logs, though they’ll earn you less money. Alternatively, if your trees have shorter or smaller trunks, you can process them into wood chips. While these won’t bring in as much, they’re perfect for trees that can’t be used for other products.

Wood is also used in various productions, and while you can always buy it, creating your own production chain can be a lucrative option. Making furniture or pallets, for example, can be a great way to turn wood into more profitable products. Wood is always in demand, and if you find a product that sells well or is useful to you, forestry can open up a lot of profitable opportunities.

The longer you let your trees grow, the more money they’ll make when you sell them. So, it’s definitely worth waiting until they’re fully matured before cutting them down. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect to earn from bales of different sizes:
