In The Witcher 3 Remastered, the Griffin School Witcher Armor is one of the many collections available. The blueprints for this armor set are located in many different locations and require different levels of exploration. This guide covers the locations of the Basic, Enhanced, Superior, Mastercrafted, and Grandmaster Griffin armor pieces.
All Griffin School Witcher Armor Locations
The Griffin School Witcher Armor may be gained by upgrading at various levels. At level 11, one can obtain the base Griffin armor, followed by the Enhanced, Superior, Mastercrafted, and Grandmaster versions.
Basic Griffin Armor Location
To find the Griffin Armor blueprint, you will have to go through Dragon Slayer Grotto. Proceed all the way to the last chamber, where you will find the blueprints inside the chest. Investigating the chest will give you the following:
- Diagram: Griffin Armor.
- Diagram: Griffin Trousers.
- Diagram: Griffin Boots.
- Diagram: Griffin Gauntlets.
The basic Griffin armor set can be crafted at any blacksmith store, so you don’t require a specific blacksmith for this one.
Basic Griffin Steel Sword
Travel to the small island west of Oxenfurt and look for some ruins there. After getting on top of the ruins, take care of the harpy nest that is there. After defeating the enemies, go inside the room at the top and inspect the corpse for the Griffin Steel Sword blueprint.
Basic Griffin Silver Sword
Then, proceed to Lornruk, where you will locate a lighthouse which is hard to access. Go down to the beach area at the Place of Power, and dive into the water in order to locate a cave. Enhanced Griffin Armor Locations

Superior Griffin Silver Sword
Proceed to the Elverum Lighthouse that is found at the south end of the biggest island of the Skellige region. Proceed along the coast heading north and locate a cave. Proceed into the cave until you reach the big chamber. Search for the small corner area within that chamber where the blueprint will be found.
Mastercrafted Griffin Armor Location
At Level 34, the Mastercrafted Griffin gear can be accessed. You can find its blueprint in a treasure chest located in the ruins located east of the Whale Graveyard. This chest will have the diagram for the armor, trouser, boots, and gauntlets.
In contrast with the standard Griffin equipment, Mastercrafted gear can be crafted by specific blacksmiths only. The armour can be made in Crow’s Perch, while the weapons can be forged by the Novigrad City blacksmith.
Mastercrafted Griffin Steel Sword
Begin from Boxholm and proceed to the east until you arrive at a destroyed structure. Beat your enemy, then head to the platform on top where you will see a chest with the design for the Mastercrafted Griffin Steel Sword.
Mastercrafted Griffin Silver Sword
Travel eastward from Fornhala until you see some ruins on the other side of the lake. Go there and search the chest to get the blueprints for the Mastercrafted Griffin Silver Sword.
Grandmaster Griffin Armor Locations
If you have the Blood and Wine DLC, you can start hunting down the armor pieces for the Grandmaster Griffin set.
The Grandmaster Griffin Chest Armour, Trousers, and Silver Sword diagrams can be obtained from the same location. First, you should go to Mont Crane Castle and kill its occupants. After that, proceed to the tower located in the northern part of the castle’s courtyard and remove the illusion preventing access to the tower.
Once you are inside, go to the small pantry and activate your Witcher Senses to find the hidden button. By pressing it, you will gain access to a secret passage; go through it to the end and find a chest which contains a journal. Read it to learn where to locate the Power Crystal.
Find the specified location and take the Power Crystal. Return to the dead end where the journal is located and put the crystal in its designated place. Activate the crystal with Aard in order to open the portal.
This will transport you to the cave with one enemy inside. Kill it, and take the diagrams of the Grandmaster Griffin Chest Armour, Trousers, and Silver Sword from the desk, bookshelf, and round table located at the back of the cave.
Grandmaster Griffin Steel Sword, Gauntlets, and Boots
Go to the ruins of Fort Ussar. Slyzard can be easily defeated by you in case they come in your way. Locate a chest located beneath the stairs in the eastern part of the ruins. Inside the chest is the diagram of Grandmaster Griffin Steel Sword, Gauntlets, and Boots.
To craft the Grandmaster Griffin Set, you need to obtain all the previous tiers of the Griffin armor set first, then reach level 40. After that, visit the Blacksmith at Beauclair, the Duchy of Toussaint to craft the Grandmaster Griffin gear set.
