The Royal Physician Quest Guide in KCD2 Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC

The Royal Physician is one of the side quests in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC, where you help the royal doctor, Albich, on a mission. This quest begins in the Kuttenberg region and takes you through a series of dialogue choices and moral decisions that can affect your reputation.

How to Start The Royal Physician Quest in KCD2

Your journey begins in Suchdol, located in the western part of the Kuttenberg region. Once you reach the second day of the main quest, head up the stairs into the castle. On the right, you’ll find the banquet hall. Enter it and look for Peter of Pisek, who’ll be sitting at a table in one of the chairs.

If you’ve already finished the main story, Peter won’t be in Suchdol anymore. Instead, you’ll find him in Kuttenberg, or sometimes travelling along the road between Suchdol and Kuttenberg. Either way, he’ll always be marked with a purple icon, so he’s easy to spot. Once you speak with Lord Pisek, he’ll hand you a Letter of Introduction, which you’ll need to deliver to Albich to move the quest forward.

Head over to the apothecary in Kuttengberg city and talk to the trader behind the counter. He’ll mention that Albich isn’t there; he’s gone to treat a neighbour’s maid just two houses to the east. When you reach the place, you’ll spot Matthew Ram of Tseyle and his bodyguard pounding on the door. As you approach them, you’ll see an “Investigate” prompt appear in the bottom right corner.

    Talking with Albich

Instead of going through the front, circle around from the southern street and enter the house through the backyard door. Head upstairs, and you’ll find Albich tending to a sick maid. It’s best to wait until he finishes and steps away before talking to him. If you interrupt while he’s still treating her, you’ll lose reputation for being rude. Once he stands up and faces you, you can safely start the conversation.

To earn some reputation points during your chat, follow this dialogue path: say “I’m sorry”, then “Here’s Lord Pisek’s Letter”, and finally “They say you want to see the King…”. After that, you’ll hit a speech check, so wearing clothes that boost your Charisma to at least 20 will give you the best chance of success.

    Talking with Guards

Soon after, the two men who were banging on the front door will burst in. At this point, you have a few ways to handle the situation. You can try to calm things down peacefully using one of three skill checks, or if you’d rather, you can choose to fight them.

If you go for a peaceful solution, the “Violence is not the answer” option works perfectly if your Charisma is at least 20, and it’ll even boost your reputation. You can also use “Albich treats the king!” if your Scholarship is 24 or higher, which will have the same positive outcome. Another option, “You want a fight?”, succeeds with 18 Dread, but it lowers your reputation twice, so it’s not worth it. Choosing “Enough!” leads to a fight, and while you can defeat them easily, Albich won’t appreciate it.

    Going to Sedletz Monastery

Once the situation is settled, Albich will be ready to leave for the Sedletz Monastery right away. You can ask him a few more questions before setting off, then say “Let’s go then” to trigger a cutscene that takes you straight to the monastery, where you’ll meet Abbot Jan III.

During the conversation with the Abbot, choose your responses carefully to boost your reputation. Start with “Does it look like the plague?”, then say “I’m sorry” to gain a bit of reputation. Follow up with “Who are the sick?, and “How could they all have got infected?” if you succeed at this point with 24 Scholarship, you’ll earn another reputation boost. Finish with “What now, Albich?” and then “Alright.” That wraps up The Royal Physician quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
