All Bamboo Strike Locations in Ghost of Yotei

In Ghost of Yotei, Bamboo Strikes are random timed challenges that help gauge how fast your reflexes are, rewarding Spirit points and Young Baby bamboo sticks. Complete all 15 of them in various areas such as forests, cliffs, or inns to gain additional Spirit points and unlock cool abilities. Certain strikes are associated with quests while others will be located through exploration and the use of Traveller’s Maps.

All 15 Bamboo Strikes Location

Altogether, there are 15 Bamboo Strikes divided across five regions. Below, you’ll find each one explained by area.

Ishikari Plain

Urara Forest Bamboo Strike

To discover the Bamboo Strike in Urara Forest, you need to go to the eastern edge of the map. Ultimately, there is a Bamboo Strike behind the Oni’s Breath Inn. The Bamboo Strike blends well into the forested area that surrounds it.

Matsumae Encampment Bamboo Strike

The Bamboo Strike at the Matsumae Encampment can be accessed very early, exactly when the story first sends you into the Plains. This Strike is located in the encampment so it will be easy to spot when you are exploring the area for the first time.

Rumoi Bamboo Strike

Now, the Rumoi Bamboo Strike can be found to the north of the Rumoi River. It sits in a rocky clearing nearby where you’ll notice a man who is already engaged in training, marking the spot clearly for you.

Yotei Grasslands

Father’s Bamboo Strike

The Father’s Bamboo Strike is located just outside your home, set against the backdrop of Lake Shikotsu. If you head southward, you’ll find it positioned directly along the cliff’s edge, overlooking the water.

Hanbei’s Bamboo Strike

You will come across Hanbei’s Bamboo Strike while progressing through the Revenge Quest known as The Way of the Dual Katana. This strike is tied to the mission itself, meaning you cannot miss it as you advance. Interestingly, the sequence becomes slightly easier as you continue through the quest.

Nupur River Bamboo Strike

To locate the Nupur River Bamboo Strike, head north from the Crow’s Nest Watchtower. As you move into a small wooded area, you will find the strike with a nearby Settler standing close to it, marking its presence.

Yotei River Bamboo Strike

The Yotei River Bamboo Strike lies between two notable landmarks: the White Dye House and Master Hejiro’s Garden. You’ll find it positioned north of the river, making it easier to spot once you navigate between those two points.

Teshio Ridge

Sakuru Bamboo Strike

The Sakuru Bamboo Strike can be found by starting at the Kamikawa Trading Post, which is roughly at the center of the map. From there, head north and make your way up to a tall rock platform. The Strike is positioned atop this elevated area, making it visible once you reach the peak.

Sarobetsu Bamboo Strike

To reach the Sarobetsu Bamboo Strike, begin your journey at Sarobetsu Lake, located in the northwest region of the map. From the lake, travel east along the frozen river. You will find the Strike perched on a boulder that rises above the icy water, clearly marking its location.

Hakodake Mountains Bamboo Strike

The Hakodake Mountains Bamboo Strike is situated near the Contested Farm on the eastern coast. Rather than sliding down the slope as you might initially expect, look to your left for a series of rocks and grapple points. These features provide a path upward, leading directly to the Strike, which is nestled among the higher terrain.

Tokachi Range

Misty Valley Bamboo Strike

The Misty Valley Bamboo Strike is situated in the southern part of the Yamane Bluffs area. To reach it, pass through the Mysterious Gate and then through the abandoned Tominaga Estate. From there, veer left into a bamboo grove. The Strike itself will only appear once you run through the paths lined with red flowers, marking its exact location.

Huranui Rest Inn Bamboo Strike

The Huranui Rest Inn Bamboo Strike does not have a separate map marker, so you’ll need to locate it manually. Make your way to the inn, and just outside, by the riverside view, you’ll find the Strike clearly positioned.

Niikappu’s Fork Bamboo Strike

To reach Niikappu’s Fork Bamboo Strike, head to the east side of the region and follow the Niikappu River until it divides into two branches. East of this fork, you will find a grove of yellow trees. There, three ronin are practicing near the Strike, which is mounted atop a rock. Watch out for the two bears who might attack you.

Oshima Coast

Matsumae Residences Bamboo Strike

To locate the Matsumae Residences Bamboo Strike, fast travel to the fort. Once inside, turn to the right and follow the path lined with blossom trees. Continuing along this path will lead you directly to the Strike, making it easy to spot as you progress.

Atago Bamboo Strike

The Atago Bamboo Strike can be found after entering the region through the north gate. From there, continue south into a forest filled with blossoming trees. Within this forest, you will come across a camp, and the Strike is located there.

How Bamboo Strikes Work

Each Bamboo Strike is a timed reflex challenge where you must press button sequences correctly before the timer expires. Each Strike has three rounds, increasing in difficulty—3, 5, then 7 inputs. Clearing all rounds grants a Spirit boost and 20 Young Bamboo sticks, though Spirit upgrades require multiple completions. On the map, they appear as three bamboo stalks, discoverable naturally or via Traveller’s Maps.

Conclusion

In total, there are 15 Bamboo Strikes scattered across Yotei. Some are woven into quests, while others hide in remote forests, rocky cliffs, or beside inns. Each one increases your Spirit capacity (after enough completions) and grants a stack of Young Bamboo. Whether you’re hunting them through pure exploration or using Traveller’s Maps for guidance, finishing every Strike ensures you’ll maximize your Spirit bar and strengthen your character for the tougher battles ahead.
