The Hydroelectric Turbine is one of the most powerful energy sources that you can unlock in Subnautica 2. This turbine makes use of flowing water currents in order to produce power for your base. As long as the turbine blueprint is unlocked, all you have to do is place the turbine in a water current. In this guide, we will show you how to unlock the Hydroelectric Turbine in Subnautica 2.
How To Unlock Hydroelectric Turbine

For unlocking the blueprint for the Hydroelectric Turbine, you will need to scan two Hydroelectric Turbine pieces with the Scanner. The Hydroelectric Turbine generates electricity from the currents under the water and is able to provide you with a constant flow of power for your base. In order to make good use of it, you will need to unlock the blueprint for the Power Transmitter as well.
The Hydroelectric Turbine works only when you place it inside an active underwater current. If placed in stagnant water, the Hydroelectric Turbine would not produce any electricity. The Hydroelectric Turbine blueprint gets unlocked in Subnautica 2, after which you can use the Habitat Builder to create a Hydroelectric Turbine.
To make one Hydroelectric Turbine, you will require 3 pieces of Titanium, 3 pieces of Copper, and 3 pieces of Silver. You can collect all the required materials and open the Habitat Builder. Thereafter, select Hydroelectric Turbine from the list of structures available to you.
First Hydroelectric Turbine Fragment Location

Start from your Lifepod and swim north towards it. On your way, you’ll come across an area filled with big jellyfish as well as some attacking fish. Once you see the Old Habitat up ahead, head underwater toward the bottom. You’ll find the first fragment of the Hydroelectric Turbine right around there.
Second Hydroelectric Turbine Fragment Location

Once the first piece has been scanned, go to your right to find a hill. On top of that hill, there is another large jellyfish. It is from here that you need to find the second piece of the Hydroelectric Turbine, which is sitting on top of the seabed near the hill.
