Embark on a perilous journey into the heart of the mysterious Zone on this “Just Like the Good Old Days” mission. In the wasteland, you’ll encounter deadly anomalies, cunning mutants, and an enigmatic Monolith. Learn the truth about the cause of the Monolith reactivation, and then return power to the beleaguered shelter.
Just Like the Good Old Days
The monolith, that mysterious entity, has returned. It seems to have been activated by some signal. We need to find the source of this signal and uncover the mystery behind its reactivation. The quest starts at Wild Island and starts immediately after the completion of the Last Drop of Blood or Law and Order
Talk to Prof. Lodochka
After you escape the SIRCAA in To the Last Drop of Blood, you must to head to Quiet’s Camp on Wild Island. There, you’ll meet with Professor Lodochka. Once you’re close enough, you’ll get a new objective: to neutralize the mercenaries inside a nearby building. You can fight them directly or try to sneak up on them for a stealthy takedown. All the mercenaries are on the same floor and hallway, and they’ll be marked on your map to help you find them.
After you’ve eliminated all the mercenaries and secured the area, talk to Professor Lodochka. Ask him about Noontide to learn more about what happened. Following your conversation with Professor Lodochka, your next task is to locate the signal’s source that activated the Monolith. This signal source is hidden within the shelter.

Head to the marked location near the river. There, you’ll find a mining cave with an opening. Enter the cave and follow the path until you reach the rail tracks. Turn right and then continue through the path. Squeeze through the narrow openings to reach the next area.
As you enter the cave, you’ll encounter some strange anomalies. Be careful as you navigate past them. Use the pipes to climb to the top of the surface. Turn right and follow the path until you reach a machine-filled room. The Emitter, the source of the signal, is located right in front of you.
Warning: Staying in this room will expose you to harmful PSI damage. Quickly grab the Emitter and leave the room to complete the mission. Bring the Emitter back to Professor Lodochka and show him the device. This will conclude the “Just Like the Good Old Days” mission and initiate the next mission, “Hornet’s Nest.” You can use the Cuirass Exoskeleton or the SEVA-I Suit, as it will provide PSI damage protection.
Restore Power and Activate the Ventilation System
While your main objective is to find the signal source, you’ll also have the option to restore power to the engineering room and activate the ventilation system to help the people in the shelter.
This is an additional task that you can choose to complete. You’ll need to find a fuse to restore power and activate the ventilation system. Once you have the fuse, use it to restore the power.
Find a Fuse

Go to the first floor of the building and grab the High-Voltage Fuse from the crate. Head north to the Shelter and go inside. Descend to the Engineering Rooms. Be cautious, as a Bloodsucker is lurking around. On the first cage to your right, you can find a Corundum Suit, some ammo, and Anti-Radiation Drugs.
Go to the other cage and climb on top of the large pipe. Jump to the next pipe to reach the Circuit Breaker. Place the High-Voltage Fuse on the Circuit Breaker to restore power and activate the ventilation system.
Tip: Bloodsuckers are invisible, but they aren’t always cloaked. If they haven’t spotted you, they’ll be visible. Also, they can’t attack while invisible, so they’ll reveal themselves when they strike. To conserve ammo, aim carefully and only shoot when you have a clear shot. The moment they attack is your best chance to hit them, as they’ll be visible during their attack.
