Among the useful weapons available for crafting in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered are the Viper Silver Sword and the Viper Steel Sword. For their crafting, you will have to first discover their recipes along with the required materials. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the recipes, how to reach the required locations, and how to craft both Viper swords.
How to Get the Viper Silver Sword and Viper Steel Sword
The first step towards obtaining the Viper Silver Sword and the Viper Steel Sword would be to locate the crafting recipe for both items. This can be done at the early stages of the game by exploring the graveyard area. Proceed from the starting point to the indicated graveyard area. There will be several enemies patrolling here, one of which will be near the Power Stone, while the other will be in the basement.
Proceed to the building and push the door using the Force Push ability. Go down into the basement and explore the area with your Witcher Sense activated. Find all the items marked with an orange mark and loot all the items you can find. Eventually, you will find the letter from Witcher Kolgrim of the Viper School. After picking it up, don’t forget to read it, as it will provide you with the location of the next area to explore. You should also take the time to find Diagram: Serpentine Silver Sword on the bodies too.
Go to the Bandit Camp
This letter will take you to a bandit camp. Go to the place indicated on your map and find the brick ramp that you can use to climb up to the camp. In case you can’t find the brick ramp, from the bridge in the south, go up north. You will find a broken brick structure leaning against the cliff wall.
Once you climb up the bricks, move through the area until you come to the camp. There are many enemies in the camp, with some holding swords and a bow, so be prepared for a fight. Once you kill the enemies, remember to search their dead bodies for items that can be sold off later since you may need some extra money for making swords.
Search the Camp for the Quest Items
After dealing with the enemies, search the camp thoroughly. Loot all the containers in the vicinity and pick up everything that you will come across. You will also need to retrieve some extra documents from a chest found near the bed, which includes the Diagram: Serpentine steel sword.
This way you will be able to finish your mission and get the details required for forging the swords. It would also be wise to visit the nearby deserted village. Some of the houses contain useful loot, so it’s worth checking them while you’re in the area.
Craft the Viper Swords
Once you find the recipes, you can use them to craft the Viper Silver Sword and the Viper Steel Sword in a blacksmith’s shop. Head over to a blacksmith and go to his crafting list, where the two Viper swords will be listed. You will need all the required materials in order to craft the swords.
In case you don’t have all the materials, you can either gather what is needed, or you can buy them from merchants. The bandit camp and the deserted village close to it can help you gather more loot that you can sell in order to obtain more cash. Once you have all the required materials, speak to the blacksmith and craft the swords.
