Puzzlement Quest Guide – AC Shadows

The A Puzzlement quest in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is one of the game’s most mysterious side stories. It leads you to hidden symbols, an ancient locked door, and some powerful Isu gear waiting on the other side. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to start the quest, where to find the glyphs, and what rewards you’ll earn once you solve the puzzle.

How to Start the Puzzlement Quest

To kick off the A Puzzlement quest, you’ll first need to finish the opening story arc and unlock Yasuke as a playable character. You also have to take down two members of the Shinbakufu before the quest becomes available.

Once that’s done, make your way to the Wakasa province, northeast of Kyoto. Look for two men, Kinu and Kane, standing in front of a strange stone door covered in mysterious glyphs. Talk to them, and after the conversation, the quest will officially begin.

All Glyph Location

To start tracking down the glyphs, equip the Riddle Scroll Beacon trinket from your Trinkets menu. Now head east of the quest marker. As you get close to the first Glyph of the Vault, the trinket will start blinking faster, letting you know you’re in the right spot. Puzzlement Quest Rewards

Once you’ve found the glyph, head back to Kinu and Kane, where you first met them. Tell them what you discovered about the strange symbol, and agree to help them dig deeper into the mystery of the stone door. This wraps up the “A Puzzlement” quest and immediately kicks off the next one, “Teach a Dog New Kicks.”

After you eventually track down all 13 glyphs, the stone door will finally open. Inside, you’ll discover a handful of special rewards waiting for you, including the Blade of Yumminess clue and scabbard, two powerful Isu-forged weapons, a legendary tanto and a legendary naginata, plus a Statue of Kassandra cosmetic and two engravings: Strength of Atlantis and Wisdom of Atlantis.
