The Toe Biter Buggy is one of the most valuable buggies introduced in Grounded 2 in the Abyss Update. The buggy is able to move through land and underwater, thus being perfect for discovering the pond and fighting the enemies there. To get the buggy, you have to collect an Optical Disc, defeat Papa Toe Biter, and gather some other materials. In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to do to get the Toe Biter Buggy.
Get A Toe Biter Egg for the Toe Biter Buggy
The very first step for crafting this unique new buggy is to get the egg. The Toe Biter Buggy Egg is located in Gnarly Bark, specifically in the memorial section. The memorial is situated at the southern part of the tree.

To find it, move behind the memorial and enter the cave. There, you will meet a Papa Toe Biter. Defeat this enemy, as he is the one who gives the Toe Biter eggs.

After defeating the enemy, loot its body and get the Toe Biter Egg. Now, take the egg back to your base.
How To Get the Aquatic Optical Disc

Don’t leave the Gnarly Bark area just yet, as you need to collect the Aquatic Optical Disc. This allows players to unlock the Toe Biter Buggy craftable recipe. The disc can be found at the top of the Gnarly Bark Tree.
Players should start from the memorial, then proceed along the path until reaching the tree and climbing the log. There are some mushrooms which could be used for parkouring.

However, your buggy cannot be used in this area; thus, you will need to go without the help of your vehicle. Continue with the inner path of the tree and keep climbing until you get to the higher part of the tree. There is another hole to the right. Enter it and grab the Optical Disc, which is attached to a body.
Carry the disc to any Ranger Station. Use the optical disc to unlock the Toe Biter Buggy and the Toe Biter Nest. The cost of the buggy formula is 5,000 Raw Science.
Collect The Resources For The Toe Biter Nest and Saddle
Before you embark on finding the materials required for the Toe Biter Saddle and Nest, it is recommended to own at least a Tier 3 Shovel and Tier 3 Omni Clippers. These are endgame items, so you should progress through the game until you unlock the required items. Then, you can go ahead and build the nest and saddle for the Toe Biter.
The materials you require for the nest are:
- 6x Cattail Fluff
- 8x Horsetail Stem
- 3x Lint Rope
- 4x Sunken Bones
- Algae
As for the saddle, you will require:
- 2x Horsetail Stems
- 1x Koi Fish Scale
- 3x Sunken Bone
- 4x Pond Moss
Horsetail Stems
Horsetail Stems are available near the pond. They can be collected underwater using your clippers or from the ground using an appropriate axe.
Cattail Fluff
You can find them near the pond, including near the bridge area. Harvest the cattails with the help of a Tier 3 Axe to get Cattail Fluff.
Koi Scales
The Koi scales usually can be harvested from the bottom of the pond with the help of your Tier 3 Shovel. Go to the upper-right part of the bridge area, and there you will find a dangerous monster named Admiral Grand. You just need to go around it and harvest muddy scales with the Tier 3 Shovel.
Sunken Bones
Sunken Bones can be found underwater in great depths, so diving into the pond will be required. It is recommended to use a Gill Tube and equip yourself with Fuzzy Armour since the deeper parts of the pond can be very cold. It is necessary to swim down as deep as possible and look for Sunken Bones at the bottom of the pond.
Pond Moss

Pond Moss can also be found deep underwater. You’ll need four pieces, but be careful while collecting it because several dangerous creatures can attack you in this area.
Hatching the Toe Biter

Once you collect all the items, go back to your hideout and build the Toe Biter Nest. You will also need a Hatchery to hatch the Toe Biter Egg. Put the egg into the hatchery and wait until the egg is hatched. It takes about 12 hours in the game to hatch the egg.
If you haven’t unlocked a Hatchery yet, then use the Egg Storage to keep the egg until you have the Hatchery built and the required materials to get the Nest. Once the Toe Biter has hatched, you can place it inside the Toe Biter Nest to rename it or store it away for the time being.
About the Toe Biter Buggy
After crafting the saddle, you can ride the Toe Biter as you normally would other buggies. This buggy is unique, as you can ride it on land and on water, making it the only buggy to be used underwater. The Toe Biter Buggy can perform the following attacks.
- Charge attack
- Leg sweep (F key)
- Three hit combo
