The Dragonkin Mage Armor Set is a powerful magic outfit in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It gives strong bonuses for magic users, but getting it takes some work. You’ll need to go into a hard dungeon in the Stormtouch Highlands, find three special statues, and collect materials to craft the gear. This guide will show you how to get the full set step by step.
Dragonkin Mage Armor Set Bonuses
The dragonkin of Ashenfall were all about power, drawing their strength from the strange elemental anima found in the land. While most dragonkin preferred science and alchemy over magic, the ones from Ashenfall fully embraced their roles as sorcerer kings.
They wore robes specifically designed to boost their magical abilities. Using forgotten alchemical methods, they crafted cloth that could withstand intense elemental forces flames wouldn’t scorch it, frost couldn’t crack it, and lightning would simply bounce off. Though the secrets of how they made these robes are long lost, the remnants still hold some of that incredible resistance.
And while dragonkin usually prioritize practicality over appearance, these robes were an exception. They were bold, ornate, and far more extravagant than necessary perfectly suited to the egos of the powerful beings who wore them.
Crafting the full set comes with some great perks. It cuts your stamina regeneration delay in half, reduces the time it takes to conjure magic by 33%, and gives you a 15% boost to your magical critical damage.
How to Get Dragonkin Mage Armor Set
Before you head in, make sure you’re well-prepared. Bring your best weapons, stock up on some healing items or potions, and set a travel point just outside the vault for a quick return.
You’ll find the Dragonkin Mage armor in one of the vaults located in the Stormtouch Highlands. Out of all the dungeons in DragonWilds, this one is by far the toughest. Expect lots of traps, a huge layout, and enemies.
Vault Location
Explore the Stormtouch Highlands once inside, place a fast travel point at the entrance. Just like the other vaults in DragonWilds, you will need to find three Dragonkin statues. Each one will teach you how to craft a piece of the armor set.
As you explore the dungeon, keep an eye out for three Dragonkin effigies. The first statue you’ll encounter is relatively easy to find and rewards you with the Dragonkin Mage Hood. The second one is a bit more challenging, requiring you to skillfully dodge a series of deadly traps to reach it your efforts will be rewarded with the Dragonkin Mage Robe Legs. The final statue is hidden deeper within the dungeon, and discovering it will earn you the Dragonkin Mage Robes (Body), completing the set.
Crafting the Armor
Back at your base, you’ll need the following materials:
- Padded Cloth (which you make using Wool Cloth + Rough Cloth in a loom)
- Hard Leather
- Various metal ingots
- Vault Shards
To craft armor and weapons in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you’ll need a Crafting Table. The most basic version can be built using just 4 Ash Logs.
You’ll unlock the Crafting Table after talking to Doric, who you’ll find right outside the starting area. As part of his quest, he’ll ask you to bring him some Ash Logs. Once you do, you’ll learn how to build the table and start crafting simple gear like Clubs, Axes, and other basic tools.
In addition to the regular Crafting Table, there are also portable Crafting Stations. These are super handy because you can carry them around and use them while you’re out exploring the world.
