In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Crane Game, share some tips to help you win more often, and the rewards you can get.
How To Start The Hideout Crane

To play the Crane Game, go up to the top of the Hideout Ship. There you will see a Hoard. Next, locate the crane machine controls at the side of the big window and start playing the game.
Hideout Crane Game Tips And Rewards

Rather than running after the crate with the claw, you should allow it to float towards you. It is important to know that the crates move along one and the same route through water; therefore, you will have no problems making the prediction where the crate will appear.
The claw needs some seconds to open and to go below water. In order not to waste time, you should press the ZR button before the crate reaches your point. Then you only should release the button and the claw will go down to the crate.
It is necessary to know that not all crates move at the same pace. You should estimate how fast your target is moving, since the claw does not fall immediately after releasing the button and you will have to release it a bit earlier.
After you have caught the crate with the claw, you should press the B button. In this way, you will make the crane return to the initial position quicker, and the crate will be dropped in the Test Range.
Tips to Use the Crane
- Noticing the speed at which the crate moves will help you figure out where the hand needs to go in advance. Take some time to check out the crate movement for a while before you latch on.
- Positioning is everything, so use the rotate and extend buttons simultaneously to position your crane hand early.
- As long as the crate hovers above the ship deck or almost touches the deck, it won’t matter if your crate breaks or not. Even if it does, you will still get the rewards inside.
Hideout Crane Game Rewards
The loot you receive depends on what kind of crates you catch. The Light Brown Crates would usually have Spirhalite Shards but could sometimes contain Salmonid Materials. Red Crates will mainly reward Salmonid Materials.
