Splatoon Raiders provides you with three different tanks, which have their own unique advantages and abilities. Selecting suitable upgrades will help to make your life easier in battles regardless of whether you’re just starting your adventure or taking on the toughest late-game missions. In this guide, we will show you the best builds for every tank, including the most useful gadgets, relic powers, and upgrades to prioritise.

    Best Upgrades For Tanks

Choosing the right build can make a huge difference in Splatoon Raiders, whether you’re just starting out or tackling the toughest late-game challenges. Although all three tanks are good in their own way, there are differences in how they work at different points in the game. The Power Tank is easy to use and powerful, which makes it the perfect choice for those who are just starting to play the game. This tank has high survivability and provides players with the best gadget.

In mid and late game, it is better to choose the Tactical Tank because of its improved utility and better gadgets. The Power Tank must be leveled up because of its gadgets that can be later applied to the Tactical Tank, making it even more powerful. The Speed Tank is also nice to play with; however, it is less effective than other tanks. It can be considered a fun tank to use when played correctly.

    Best Tactical Tank Build

The Tactical Tank shines because of its powerful gadgets and excellent mobility.

    • Shot Pod – One of the best gadgets due to its auto-turret feature that keeps on attacking the enemy continuously.
    • Torque Screw – Enables the player to fly in mid-air and escape attacks while also minimising the damage received in mid-air.
    • Splatlights – Gain access to these gadgets later and make use of them as your third gadget.

For the Shot Pod, focus on:

    • Fire Rate Up
    • Auto Trigger on Hit
    • Double Trouble
    • Blaster
    • Knockback Gas
    • Cooldown Reduction
    • Duration Up

These upgrades increase the turret’s damage, keep it active more often, and allow it to clear enemies without much effort. For the Torque Screw, prioritise:

    • Floaty Fun
    • Damage Reduction
    • Area Width Up
    • Vertical Area Up
    • Suction Force
    • Ferment
    • Cooldown Reduction
    • Duration Up

This setup gives you excellent mobility while also making the gadget much more useful during combat. Your relic powers should support your chosen tank.

    • Gadget Recovery
    • Speed Up
    • Gadget Recovery (Enemy Defeat)
    • Gadget Recovery (Flying)
    • Danger Burst

    Best Power Tank Build

The Power Tank dominates the early game thanks to its durability and powerful gadgets.

    • Splatlights
    • Hatchet

Splatlights constantly paint the ground, making it much easier to move around, recover ink, and escape danger. Upgrade Splatlights with:

    • Splat Area Up
    • More Splatlights
    • Auto Trigger on Hit
    • Knockback
    • Scorch
    • Duration Up
    • Cooldown Reduction

With enough cooldown reduction, Splatlights can stay active almost permanently, giving you excellent mobility throughout every fight. Your relic powers should support your chosen tank.

    • Speed Up
    • Gadget Recovery
    • Gadget Recovery (Taking Damage)
    • Finishing Burst

    Best Speed Tank Build

Although it’s the weakest tank overall, the Speed Tank can still be effective with the right setup.

    • Blast Boot
    • Booya-rang

The Blast Boot is perfect for escaping dangerous situations or quickly jumping into combat. For Blast Boot, use:

    • Explosive Range Up
    • Damage Surge
    • Freeze
    • Ink Recovery
    • Explosive Damage Up
    • Cooldown Reduction

    For Booya-rang, focus on:

    • Added Ink
    • Persistent Booya-rang
    • Auto Trigger on Hit
    • Damage Up

These upgrades improve mobility while helping you maintain your ink supply. Your relic powers should support your chosen tank.

    • Speed Up
    • Gadget Recovery
    • Gadget Recovery (Movement Speed)
    • Mega Power Egg Burst

Cooldown reduction is extremely valuable, as it lets you use your strongest gadgets much more often.

    Tank Upgrade Priority

When upgrading your tank, focus on these stats in order:

    1. Gadget Part Slots
    2. Gadget Damage
    3. Health
    4. Weapon Damage

Moreover, adding more gadget part slots will help significantly because of the possibility to add more upgrades. However, do not forget to visit the Gadget Workshop because many useful upgrades, including Double Trouble, Blaster, and More Splatlights, can be obtained there.

The first important upgrade to choose in the process of upgrading your tank is Weapon Damage. It boosts the damage you deal to Salmonids, making fights easier and helping you clear missions faster. Since it affects every weapon you use, it’s the most reliable upgrade throughout the game.

After that, focus on Gadget Damage and Gadget Part Slots. Gadget Damage helps to make your abilities more effective, whereas Gadget Part Slots enable you to use more upgrades. It is necessary to note that the effectiveness of the specified upgrades depends on your tank and gadgets; however, they are very good upgrades. Finally, you will be able to unlock the Tank Limiter. After removing the specified limiter, you will have bigger ink tanks, and therefore, you will be able to fight longer without refilling your ink.
