Solve the Matterspark Puzzle in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate

In this part of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, you’ll come across a tricky section that uses the Matterspark mechanic. Don’t worry it’s not too hard once you know what to do. This guide will walk you through solving the Matterspark puzzle step by step and show you how to beat the Exile Overseer waiting at the end.

    Solve the Matterspark Puzzle

Push your way through Kepler and meet up with Ikora. Along the way, you’ll be fighting groups of Fallen, including a new flying enemy called the Corsair. Once you’ve cleared them out, talk to Ikora. She’ll ask you to check out the area, so just follow the waypoint on your HUD to the next spot. When you get there, scan the terminal attached to the wall. After a brief interruption from VII, head into the building and interact with the dark matter. This is where you’ll unlock your first new ability Matterspark.

Turn into the ball form and head down the stairs, then slip through the vent on your right. Follow the tubing all the way until it ends. If your Matterspark runs low along the way, don’t worry there are panels you can use to recharge it. When you reach the panel at the end, use your Matterspark to power it up and open the door. Right after that, you’ll see a Rally Banner spot. Go ahead and place your banner there, because a fight is coming up.

The boss here is the Exile Overseer, a big Servitor with two health bars. Once you’ve taken off half its health, you’ll need to charge two pylons with Matterspark.

    • The first pylon is present near the cliff edge go through the pipe to reach it.
    • The second pylon is deeper inside the cave, accessed by a pipe on the lower part of the rocks.

Once both pylons are charged, the Overseer becomes vulnerable again. Hit it hard with your weapons and your Super to bring it down. Watch out though Fallen Brigs will start spawning as the boss gets weaker. Take them out, finish off the Overseer, grab your loot, and keep moving forward.
