The Umbral Sands update in RuneScape Dragon Wilds adds several new Vestiges that unlock Obsidian weapons. These Vestiges are dropped by specific enemies. Players need to travel to the new map area to collect them. Defeat all the enemies, and the materials you get will unlock their recipes. RuneScape Dragon Wilds: All Umbral Sands Vestiges
Umbral Sands has introduced new Vestiges to collect in RuneScape Dragon Wilds, which unlock the Obsidian weapon set. There are four Obsidian Vestiges. The Obsidian shield cannot be obtained at the moment. It appears in Creative Mode, but it doesn’t currently drop during gameplay. It may be bugged, missing from the loot or may be present in a future update.
Elongated Obsidian Construct
This Vestige unlocks the Obsidian Staff. You can get it by defeating Toxil Golems, KotHaar-Ket or the KotHaar-Hur. Most of these enemies are found in the Burning Spire. There are multiple enemies that are found near the area, so you can collect all the Vestiges by defeating the enemies present in this area. Toxii respawns in a single day.
It is a two-handed staff you can craft at a Mystic Forge. Before you can make it, first study the Elongated Obsidian Construct vestige to unlock its crafting recipe. Once the recipe is available, collect 22 Refined Obsidians and 4 Dragonstones.
Shattered Blackblade
The Shattered Blackblade mainly drops from the KotHaar-Ket. Every skill gives you a chance of getting more rewards, so it’s worth adding them to your regular farming route. The Black Sword is a one-handed melee weapon that can be crafted once you unlock its recipe. To do that you will first need to study the Shattered Blackblade vestige. After unlocking the recipe, collect 10 black metal bars, 5 cursed leathers, 4 mystic threads, and 2 demonic oils. KotHaar-Ket will respawn in the same area after a single day.
Bludgeoning Obsidian
To get the Obsidian Maul, defeat the KotHaar enemy. This can only be found by defeating a single enemy as much as you can. The Obsidian Maul is one of the strongest two-handed weapons that you can craft in Umbral Sands. To craft the Obsidian Maul, you will need 16 Refined Obsidian and 3 Red Dragon Hide Leather. You can get Red Dragon Hide Leather by defeating Red Dragons throughout Umbral Sands. Refined Obsidian is found by defeating the KotHaar enemies. Most of the enemies in the area respawn in a single day.
Extra Items in Umbral Sands
Karis Dagger
The Karis Dagger is located in the Southwest Vault, which is situated underneath Manif Plains. Finish the vault using the Staff of Light and defeat the Kalphite Queen to access the reward chest. Keep in mind that this chest is currently bugged. Sometimes:
- It is located under the sand near the left exit.
- You might have to enter the sand bank to locate it.
- The chest sometimes seems to be empty.
- It does not always open.
Nonetheless, the dagger is a guaranteed reward in case the chest works fine. As the vault chest resets after every 3-4 days, you may visit it again and again.
Amulet of Glory
Amulet of Glory can be found dropping from Red Dragons. There are 5 Red Dragon spawns scattered throughout Umbral Sands, which are:
- One near the entrance to Burning Spire
- One inside the Burning Spire zone
- Three more within the northern region of Umbral Sands
Red Dragon respawns in 3 to 4 days’ time. Amulet of Glory gives the following advantages:
- Melee critical damage bonus
- Magic critical damage bonus
- Ranged critical damage bonus
- Defense bonus
It is one of the best combat accessories in Umbral Sands due to its many benefits in combat, especially for fighting bosses and stronger enemies.
Skills Necklace
Another item that can be looted from Red Dragons is the Skills Necklace. The Skills Necklace is not a piece of equipment for improving your combat capabilities; it is designed for resource collection. If you wear the Skills Necklace, you will get bonuses for:
- Mining
- Woodcutting
- Fishing
- Collecting resources
The Skills Necklace does not increase your experience, but you can use it to gather more resources when you farm, which makes this item a great choice when you need to gather some resources.
