If you want to start the Counterfeit Investigation Raid in Palworld, you’ll first need to know how to start it. The Counterfeit Investigation Raid has been recently introduced via the 1.0 update, and there are specific conditions under which this particular raid can occur. In this guide, we will show you how to start the raid, the requirements you need to meet, and the rewards you can expect after completing it.
How To Trigger Counterfeit Investigation Raids

First, make sure that your base is built in an area where it is permitted to raid. You could build your base in the first area at the bottom of the hill from where you enter the game world. After you have established your base:
- Destroy your Pal Box.
- Rebuild it in the same spot.
- Wait for around 3 to 5 minutes.
During this time, one of two things will happen:
- A visitor will walk to your base.
- A raid-related NPC, called the Negotiator, will appear.
If you don’t want to wait for the Negotiator’s timer, simply defeat him. Defeating the Negotiator will allow you to bypass this wait time and start right away with the raid. The raid is done in stages, and new enemies bring new Pals into the fight. Most of the Pals aren’t especially rare.
Counterfeit Investigation Raids Requirements

In order to start a raid, make sure that Raid Events are turned on in your World Settings. You can change this setting both before and after loading your world. The setting can be changed anytime and anywhere within your World Settings.
In addition, it is important to know that enemies require a proper road to reach your base. In case your base is situated on a steep cliff, a high tower, or any other unreachable location, there is a high possibility that no raids would happen because such bases are called raid-proof due to the lack of a suitable place for the enemy to spawn. Lastly, the difficulty of the raid is determined by the level of your base.
Raid Enemy Types
You have several different raid enemies who will attack your base. They could be human or Pal raids, and they appear at levels 5 – 50.
- Free Pal Alliance – The most common raid type, and the enemies here are Judicators and Believers.
- Brothers of the Eternal Pyre – Martyrs make up the most of this faction, and they are quite hard to beat.
- Wild Pals – Another more common raid appearance, you will find herds of different Pals appear at your base and attack.
- Syndicate – An elite group, this faction consists of raiders who use heavy duty weapons to take you down.
Raid Rewards
Once all the waves are killed, you will get the standard raid loot, plus a few Ancient Relics. The loot is good, but it is not too valuable when compared to other ways of farming. This means that you shouldn’t start this raid if your goal is simply farming loot or Pals.
