Palworld 1.0 has made it more satisfying to manage your base, but now you need to be a bit more strategic about it. Maintaining the health of your Pals, selecting the correct Pals for work, and assigning them to the correct type of work can make all the difference in making your base more productive. There are lots of ways that you can do this with the changes in Palworld. In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to know, from keeping your Pals happy and reducing Sanity loss to choosing the best base workers and Ranch Pals for every task.
Best Ways To Keep Your Pals In Good Working Condition
Maintaining your Pals’ health status is necessary for your Base to operate effectively. When Pals are happy, they perform tasks more quickly and efficiently, and there is very little chance of stress and illness. Here are a few simple things you should do to keep them in top shape.
Give Them Better Food

At the start of the game, a Berry Plantation will provide you with sufficient food for your Pals. But only relying on berries for a long time will not make your Pals happy. Once your base expands, try preparing meals for them on fire or at a cooking station by planting various types of crops. Better food helps keep your Pals healthier and improves their overall mood.
Build Enough Beds

Each Pal in your base should have his or her own bed. The beds should be placed near the area where all the work will take place, or rather at the centre of your base, because that makes them easily accessible. When you find your Pals sleeping on the floor although there are plenty of available beds, this is mostly because of the path that leads to the bed. Something may be blocking the way, the route might be too complicated, or the bed could be outside your base’s build area. Fixing the layout usually solves the issue.
Add Hot Springs

Hot Springs is another wonderful building that will make sure you keep your Pals happy. They can use this facility any time they want to relax. This way, you can help them get rid of their stress and improve their working conditions. The best ratio is one Hot Spring per five or six Pals on your base. Once it’s placed, they’ll use it on their own without any extra management.
Assign The Right Jobs

Pals will be far more effective if they are engaged in tasks that they are skilled at performing. Rather than allowing them to jump around between various tasks, use a Monitoring Stand and assign particular tasks to them. This keeps your base organised, improves efficiency, and helps prevent your Pals from becoming unhappy.
Keep Your Base Easy To Navigate
No matter how well fed, well-rested and well-spent in Hot Springs your Pals are, they might experience stress because of bad base design. Arrange the paths to food, beds and Hot Springs and make sure nothing is blocking these passages. Otherwise, Pals will waste their time walking instead of performing their tasks and resting.
A simple layout works best. Keep the food storage and sleeping area near the centre of the base, then place your workstations around the outside. This reduces travel time and helps your Pals stay productive and in a good mood.
Enable Super Hard Work Mode
Firstly, you need to create a Monitoring Stand and change your base into Super Hard Work Mode. As a result, your Pals will have their work speed increased, but they will lose their Sanity very quickly. If you want to get maximum work speed, then put Mind Stone Food into your Food Box. Your Pals will eat it automatically, giving them an extra Work Speed boost.
Reduce Sanity Drain

In order for your Pals to be working all the time, you will require not only several constructions but also Partner Skills that decrease Sanity loss. First build the Ancient Clinic, available at Technology Level 73. Assign one of your Pals with Medicine Level 10 to this building. Although the Ancient Clinic won’t prevent your Sanity loss, it increases your Sanity points constantly and gives 55% Sanity Drain Reduction.
Second, build the Alpha Wave Generator available at Technology Level 41. In addition to other effects, it gives 10% more Sanity Drain Reduction, so that now it will be equal to 65%. Third, place three Shroomer Noct constructions on your base. Each of their Partner Skills gives you 15% more Sanity Drain Reduction, so you get 45% more.
Together, these bonuses reach 110% Sanity Drain Reduction. Since the game caps the effect at 90%, this is more than enough to completely offset the extra Sanity loss from Demon’s Hand and keep your Pals working efficiently.
Keep Your Pals Healthy
Try to always make sure that the Sanity level of your Pals is kept above 85%. Below that mark, the likelihood of your Pals falling ill increases significantly or taking unnecessary breaks. It is also important to note that Super Hard Work Mode increases the frequency of eating by Pals. This is not a negative thing because with every bite they take, they gain sanity levels and boost their Work Speed buff from Mind Stone Food and continue being at their best.
Some of the best foods to increase sanity and keep Pals happy are:
- Pancake
- Carbonara
- Grilled Lamball
- Stewed Galeclaw
- Fried Chikipi
- Mozzarina Hamburger
- Fried Kelpsea
Best Base Pals In Palworld
Some Pals don’t just work themselves; they can also enhance the work suitability of all the Pals at your base which have the same occupation. Simply having these Pals assigned to your base gives a +1 bonus to a specific work suitability. Here are the support Pals and the work skills they boost:
| Pal | Boosts |
| Tetroise | Mining |
| Ribbuny | Handiwork |
| Mycora | Medicine Production |
| Cremis | Farming |

These Pals are especially useful early in the game because they’re easy to catch and don’t need perfect passive skills. Simply add them to your base to increase your workers’ efficiency.
Best Pals That Support Your Entire Base
Some Pals provide passive bonuses that improve your whole base instead of increasing work suitability.
- Woolipop Terror reduces hunger depletion for all Pals.
- Shroomer Noct reduces Sanity loss, making it easier to keep Pals working longer.
- Lullu increases crop growth speed, making farms much more productive.
- Brahala speeds up Breeding Farm production.
- Dynamoth reduces egg incubation time.
These bonuses become even stronger if you fully condense the Pals to four stars.
