There are 36 Lion Dogs scattered around Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It is necessary to collect all of these Lion Dogs in order to receive the achievement “For the Love of Dog”. Some of them can be easily seen, while some others are hidden inside houses or other difficult-to-reach places. In this guide, we’ll show you the location of all 36 Lion Dogs so you can collect them all without missing any.
All Lion Dog Locations
The total number of Lion Dogs that are available throughout the game is 36. Below, you’ll find the locations of every Lion Dog to make them easier to track down.
After collecting all the Lion Dogs, talk to Lady Murasaki in Eastern Kyoto to collect your rewards. You will get the Sakurahime sword appearance after talking with her.
Kiyomizu-Dera Temple Lion Dog Locations
Lion Dog 1
From the Nio-nom Gate Spirit Mirror, follow the path north. You’ll find this Lion Dog behind the Malice Barrier.
Lion Dog 2
This one is inside the room where you fight Sasaki Ganryu in the Temple Grounds.
Lion Dog 3
Head west from the waterfall and look for the burning town. The Lion Dog is located there.
Nijo-Jo Castle Lion Dog Locations

From the Nijo-jo Castle Entrance Spirit Mirror, follow the main path through the gardens to the west. You’ll find the Lion Dog along the way.

Head just south of the Palace Interior Spirit Mirror in the Kyoto Imperial Palace to find this Lion Dog.

This Lion Dog is located just north of the Nue Pond Spirit Mirror.
Mount Oe Lion Dog Locations

Start from the Mount Oe Entrance and follow the main path forward. You’ll find the Lion Dog along the route.

Head north from the Ruins Area I Spirit Mirror. Look for the house in this area and check outside, on its western side.
Lion Dog 9
Go south from the Ruins Area II Spirit Mirror and look for the building there. The Lion Dog is inside the attic.
Lion Dog 10
From the Castle Entrance Spirit Mirror, take the elevator down. Once you reach the bottom, follow the short path north to find the Lion Dog.
Lion Dog 11
Head east from the Cave I Spirit Mirror and look for a house. The Lion Dog is inside.

You’ll find this one close to the Storehouse Spirit Mirror.
Arashiyama Lion Dog Locations

Head west from the Hozu River Spirit Mirror into the village. Follow the path until you reach a dead end, where you’ll find a house containing the Lion Dog.

This one is on the middle section of the bridge south of the Togetsu-kyo Bridge Spirit Mirror. However, you need to approach it from the Hozu River Spirit Mirror.

Head north from the Temple Spirit Mirror and check just outside the house. The Lion Dog is located there.
Eastern Kyoto Lion Dog Locations

Head south from Enma’s Hall and look behind the buildings to find it.

Go west of Enma’s Hall and look for a small shrine area. The Lion Dog is there.

Head west from the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror until you reach a dead end. You’ll find the Lion Dog there.

Look for the shrine behind the merchant near Yorimasa’s Monument. The Lion Dog is located nearby.

Head to the tower next to the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Shrine. The Lion Dog is inside.

Go south from the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror and check behind the houses.

This one is located in the courtyard of Emma’s Hall.

Head far east from Gojo Street – East Spirit Mirror. You’ll find the Lion Dog inside a hut.

Head west from Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror to find this Lion Dog.

Go to the southern part of Kyoto and head just west of the bamboo forest. The Lion Dog is located there.

You’ll find this one near the bamboo forest in the southern part of Kyoto. Head inside the house and up the ladder to find it.
