The Secret Maps on Onimusha: Way of the Sword will guide you to secret items that can be found in the different locations of Kyoto. In order to uncover the locations of these secret items, you must speak to the specified NPCs in the game, collect their Old Drawings, and interpret the clue provided in each drawing in order to locate the items. The map icons will give you a hint to the location of these items, but they don’t pinpoint their exact locations. This guide covers all five Hidden Map locations and explains how to find each Hidden Treasure and collect its rewards.

A total of five Chance Encounters will happen before you uncover the Hidden Treasures. The chance encounters start when an NPC hands you an Old Drawing, which seems more like a photo than a drawing. The Old Drawing serves as your guide regarding where the Hidden Treasure can be found.
You will be provided with a map marker for locating the approximate place. Nonetheless, you have to be aware that the marker does not give you the exact location; therefore, you will have to search for the Hidden Treasure yourself.
Hidden Map No. 1

The first Hidden Treasure quest begins when you speak to the woman in the northwest part of Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror. This lady gives you Old Drawing No. 1 that directs you to the place where the treasure can be found on the rooftop of a building. There is a picture of a pagoda in the background of the drawing, and the drawing says that the treasure is located on the top of Kiyomizu-zaka Slope.

Starting from the Kiyomizu-zaka Spirit Mirror, go right and take the narrow road behind the buildings. Take a look at the left side, and you will see the ladder leading to the rooftop. Then use the second ladder to climb up to the roof that is shown in the drawing, and open the chest with the help of your gauntlet. You will receive 1 Fine Silk Cloth and 2 Oni Stones as a prize for your work.
Hidden Map No. 2

The second treasure, Hidden Treasure, is near the large Yasaka Pagoda and the Spirit Mirror nearby. The map you get may not be very easy to understand at first, but there are a couple of helpful hints, such as the pagoda, the ladder, and the waterfall.

To find the Hidden Treasure easily, you need to zoom in on the map. There are ladders on the map that will help you find where the treasure is. Alternatively, you can follow the nearby stream till you come across a waterfall. After finding the waterfall, you will need to use Oni Eyes near the bottom of the waterfall. There is a Hidden Treasure chest; you will get 1 Fine Silk Cloth and 2 Oni Stones for your effort.
Hidden Map No. 3

The third Hidden Treasure quest can be started from the woman who can be found in the northern part of the map, west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. The woman will give you Old Drawing No. 3, which contains only a drawing of the gate entering the garden with a hint: “at the temple where dragons soar”.

This time, treasure will be found at the building located east of the Kami River – East Spirit Mirror, where you’ve already killed the Genma brothers. But while approaching the building, do not enter through the main gate; instead, turn right from the main gate and walk around the east garden of the building. There you will find a hidden chest; activate it with your gauntlet and obtain your reward. The reward for this treasure includes 1 Fine Silk Cloth and 2 Power Stones.
Hidden Map No. 4

In order to begin the Hidden Treasure No. 4 quest, visit the north part of the map at Shijo Street and talk to the man selling geta. The NPC will give you Old Drawing No. 4 that depicts the corner of the wrap-around veranda with a pagoda in the distance. It means that the next destination lies on the southeast part of the map.

The nearest Spirit Mirror is Gojo Street – East. Teleport there and use the stairs on the right side of the Spirit Mirror. After jumping over the gap and going left, you’ll need to go northeast, following the wall to the top of the area. There you will find some large stone steps.

After going up the steps, you’ll be able to see the building from the drawing. The Hidden Treasure chest is located on the left side of the veranda. Use your gauntlet and grab your reward. This way, you’ll get 1 Fine Silk Cloth and 2 Power Stones.
Hidden Map No. 5

In order to find this Hidden Treasure, visit the Yasaka Pagoda and then climb all the way up to the rooftop. In the Yasaka Pagoda, you will be able to find some ladders to ascend.

There are a few Genma waiting for you at the top, so take them out before searching for the treasure. Once the surrounding area has been cleared of any Genma, you will be able to locate the Hidden Treasure using Oni Eyes. The treasure can be found on the southern side of the upper rooftop of Yasaka Pagoda. You’ll receive 1 Fine Silk Cloth, 2 Oni Stones, and 1 Skeleton Hozuki as your reward.
