Sharp Fangs are crafting resources in Monster Hunter Wilds that are used to craft potent weapons and armor. To get these, you will have to track down specific small monsters from the varied terrains of the game. In this guide, we will identify the most appropriate locations and monsters to hunt so that you can effectively collect the Sharp Fangs necessary to make your hunter more effective.
Sharp Fang Locations in MH Wilds
To get Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll need to hunt certain Small Monsters usually the fierce, carnivorous-looking ones found across the game’s regions. To track them down, open your map and go to the Filter Icons list. Look for the creatures that drop Sharp Fangs, select one, and set a waypoint. Then, hop onto your Seikret and use auto-ride to head straight to your target. Once you arrive, dismount and start hunting those Small Monsters. After you’ve gathered enough Sharp Fangs, head back to camp and talk to Gemma the Smithy to craft some new armor from your loot.
Best Locations to farm Sharp Fangs
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can get Sharp Fangs by harvesting the carcasses of two small monsters: Gajios and Talioth. Both of these creatures roam the Windward Plains the first ecosystem you’ll explore with Area 8 being the best spot to find them.
Gajios, which look like small crocodiles, and Talioth, resembling velociraptors, are often found in and around the water in Area 8. Once you spot one, simply pull out your weapon of choice and take them down. Afterward, approach the carcass and press the prompt that appears to collect their materials.
It’s worth noting that Gajios always drop a Sharp Fang when harvested, while Talioth have a chance but not a guarantee. Since Gajios can be a bit rarer, it’s a good idea to hunt Talioth too whenever you see them even if they don’t always drop the item you need.
Monsters to farm Sharp Fangs
In Monster Hunter Wilds, several small monsters can drop Sharp Fangs, and their locations are spread across different regions:
- Gajios – Windward Plains
- Talioth – Windward Plains
- Paragill – Scarlet Forest
- Kranodath – Oilwell Basin
- Porkeplume – Iceshard Cliffs
- Guardian Seikret – Ruins of Wyveria
The drop rates for Sharp Fangs vary for each monster, so there’s no guarantee you’ll get one every time you carve a defeated creature. Still, hunting these small monsters is your best shot at gathering them.
If you want to speed things up, keep an eye out for optional missions from the Handler that focus on hunting groups of small monsters. These quests might reward you not only with Sharp Fangs but also with Sharp Claws and other useful materials.
