One of the most useful tools that can be unlocked at an early stage in Subnautica 2 is the Portable Oxygen Generator. This tool gives access to a portable source of oxygen, which means that a player will not need to resurface so often because of a lack of oxygen. This is helpful when exploring deep caves, wrecks, and dangerous biomes. In this guide, we will show you how to unlock the Portable Oxygen Generator in Subnautica 2.
How To Unlock Portable Oxygen Generator

In order to unlock the Portable Oxygen Generator, you must first scan two Portable Oxygen Generator fragments. The fragments can be found within a large clam shell creature that can be found to the south of your lifepod. Once you scan both, return to your fabricator. You can craft the Portable Oxygen Generator using 3 Titanium and 2 Lithium. The Portable Oxygen Generator is a very useful tool in Subnautica 2 because it gives you an extra source of oxygen while exploring underwater.
Scanning The Fragments

Swim from the Lifepod straight down south till you see a huge clam-like creature lying still on the seafloor. This creature has tentacles around its mouth that work as triggers. Swim close to the tentacles, and after a few seconds, you notice the clam closing up. The moment you notice it closing up, quickly retreat back so that you are not trapped within it. Wait for a while, and then it will open for you to re-enter again.

The first fragment of the Portable Oxygen Generator can be found at the entry point. Simply scan the fragment using your scanner and then leave before the clam closes. Once it opens again, simply swim back into it. You will find the second fragment in the middle of the creature and hidden by some metal scraps. Remove the metal scraps and scan the fragment.
