Broken Tower is another small but worthwhile area to explore in Gothic 1 Remake. The Broken Tower is located close to the road that leads to the territory of the Orcs. This place has two treasure chests and a puzzle-lock door inside the tower. The puzzle-lock door needs to be unlocked by solving the plate puzzle. How To Open The Broken Tower Door
You start from the south entrance of the Old Camp and head west along the route that goes to the Orc Territory. Proceed until you come across a fork in the road. Once you hit the fork, you need to take the east fork. You know that you are going on the right road if you can see a broken fence on your right and some destroyed wooden crates on your left. This will take you straight to the Broken Tower. The steps for solving the puzzle are as follows:
- Choose the 3rd plate and shift it left five times.
- Choose the 4th plate and shift it right six times.
- Shift the 2nd plate left one time.
- Shift the 5th plate right one time.
- Now choose the 2nd plate and shift it left once again.
- Shift the 5th plate right one time again.
- Choose the 1st plate and shift it right six times.
- Shift the 6th plate right two times.
- Now choose the 2nd plate and shift it left three times.
- Shift the 4th plate right five times.
- Shift the 5th plate right three times.
- Shift the 1st plate right five times.
- Shift the 6th plate right three times.
- Shift the 2nd plate left six times.
- Shift the 1st plate right three times.
- Shift the 4th plate right three times.
- Lastly, shift the 5th plate right three times.
You should now have successfully completed the puzzle and unlocked its mechanism. In the Broken Tower, there are two chests that are locked; open them if you have the lock-picking abilities.
The first chest includes some basic loot which you can use for your benefit during the early stages of the game; items found here include a Crude Sword, Fire Bolt spell scroll, Withered Axe, seven Arrows, and 26 Ore Nuggets. Although none of these items is rare, they could serve you well as weapons, ammunition, and extra ore.
The other chest is the real treasure, where you will get the Ring of Iron Skin, which will help you increase your defences. Along with this, you will also obtain the Essence of Strength, four pieces of Iron, two Lab Flasks, two pieces of Salt, and nine Coins.
