The Unexpected Alliance quest in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope sends you to a tower in the Iron Forest to check on a broken repeater. It may not be easy to get there, owing to the damage caused to the metal structures and electrical anomalies that exist along the way. At the top of the tower, you will face a Poltergeist as well. This guide will show you how to reach the repeater and deal with the cause of its malfunction.
How To Get To The Repeater
Having talked to Zulu, you’ll start the Unexpected Alliance quest. In order to complete it, you first need to talk to Nitro at the Testing Grounds POI. After speaking to him, Nitro will ask you to inspect the repeater at the top of the tower and find out why it has ceased to function.
First of all, you should climb up the ladder standing right opposite Nitro. After that, you’ll be able to reach the platform from which you will have to make your way to the repeater. Then you should turn to the right side and climb up the destroyed metal structure. Toss a few metal bolts at the anomalies along the way.
Keep moving through the metallic structure until you come across another ladder. Climb it, then move along the structure and jump across the gap to the left. An electro-orb will help keep the anomaly on the structure contained for a while until you jump across. Keep moving until you reach the ladder on the other side. Climb it to reach the top of the tower, where you’ll find the repeater.
How To Deal With The Causes Of The Malfunction
Interact with the repeater at the top of the tower; it will go faulty, and you’ll get another objective: “Deal with the causes of the malfunction.” Right after that, a Poltergeist will appear; you should kill him in order to repair the repeater. After defeating the Poltergeist, interact with the repeater one more time to repair it; this step will complete the Unexpected Alliance quest. Then move down from the tower and go to Nitro to continue the quest.
