The Ring of Enlightenment is a valuable item that can be located inside the Mountain Fortress in Gothic 1 Remake. However, getting to the Ring of Enlightenment does not involve simply unlocking a chest, because before this, you will have to go through a challenge involving climbing to the top of the tower and solving a plate puzzle. Before heading out, make sure you’ve learned the Climbing Skill, since it’s required to reach the chest. This guide will show you the fortress location and the puzzle solution needed to get the Ring of Enlightenment.
How To Get The Ring Of Enlightenment
You will be able to find the Mountain Fortress in the southeastern corner of the map. When coming from the Old Camp, move towards the bridge that lies to the eastern side and then proceed to move southwards. The Ring of Enlightenment is located at the top of the tower inside the mountain fortress in a chest. You should complete these steps in the following order:
- Shift the first plate two places to the left.
- Shift the fourth plate two places to the right.
- Shift the fifth plate two places to the left.
- Shift the sixth plate three places to the left.
- Shift the second plate four places to the right.
- Shift the third plate one place to the left.
- Shift the sixth plate five more places to the left.
- Shift the fourth plate three places to the right.
- Shift the fifth plate three places to the left.
- Shift the third plate three places to the left.
- Shift the fourth plate six places to the right.
- Shift the sixth plate six places to the left.
- Shift the fifth plate six places to the left.
- Shift the sixth plate another six places to the left.
- Shift the second plate three places to the right.
- At last, shift the fourth plate three places to the right.
However, if you play using the Xbox console, press either the D-Pad Left or the D-Pad Right button when prompted by a step to shift the plate accordingly. Remember that you will have to unlock the Climbing Skill since you will need it to reach the chest.
