How To Get Ceruledge & Armarouge in Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

With the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, the game has received an expansion to the number of Pokémon available for us to catch. One of those newly added Pokémon is Charcadet, the Fire Child Pokémon. Charcadet and its evolutions, the Fire/Ghost-type Ceruledge and the Fire/Psychic-type Armarouge, are fan favorite Pokémon that require special items to evolve from Charcadet. These two Pokémon were version-exclusive in the debut game of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. But in Pokémon Legends Z-A, you can obtain both of these Pokémon in the single game without the need to trade. And all you have to do is follow along with this guide.

    What are the Armor Items

To evolve Charcadet into its distinct forms, you’ll need specific evolution items:

    • Auspicious Armor: Evolves Charcadet into Armarouge.
    • Malicious Armor: Evolves Charcadet into Ceruledge.

These items work as evolution stone, and one of each is required to obtain both Pokémon

    Catching Charcadet

Your first course of action in this journey should be catching Charcadet.

Charcadet can be found in Hyperspace Wild  Zones. You can look at the Wild Hyperspace Zones’ summary from the map at the right which indicate  which Pokémon are present in the zone . Enter a wild zone with Charcadet and catch the Pokémon there

Obtaining Your First Armor – Side Mission 132

The easiest way to acquire one of these armor pieces is through Side Mission 132– Bitter Blue Flames vs. Blazing Crimson.

    • Prerequisites: Side Mission 132 unlocks after starting Hyperspace Survey in Hyperspace Mission 3.
    • Location: Under the bridge which leads to the northeast entrance of Wild Zone 17 look for an NPC with Charcadet at its side, who will offer you this mission.
    • The Choice: Upon starting Side Mission 132, the NPC will allow you to choose one of the two armor items for free. This is a critical decision, as he will only give one of these armors. Don’t worry, you’ll get the other one!

Obtaining the Second Armor in Hyperspace Lumiose

Now that you have one of the Armor Piece to evolve your Charcadet, you might be wondering about the  second armor (the one you didn’t choose in Side Mission 132). To do so you have to explore Hyperspace Lumiose.

    • Where to find: The remaining armor is exclusively found as a rare drop when you break the     floating Pokéballs in Level 4 and Level 5 Hyperspace Zones. These zones are less common than other Wild Space variations.
    • Increasing Level 5 Zone Spawns: To improve your chances of encountering Level 5 Hyperspace Zones, head to the Rust Syndicate. After accumulating 25,000 survey points, you can perform special scans that will increase the frequency of rare Level 5 Hyperspace Zones appearing. Keep scanning until a Level 5 Zone appears.

Boosting Your Drop Rates with Donuts

Finding the specific armor drop in a Level 4/5 Hyperspace Zone can still be a challenge due to its rarity. This is where the power of Donuts comes in handy. Ansha’s Donuts not only allow you to enter Hyperspace Lumiose, they can also give to buffs when you enter Hyperspace Lumiose just like the sandwiches did in the last games. So while making donuts for your adventures keep the following in mind.

    • Item Power: Special: To significantly boost your chances of getting rare item drops, make Donuts that have the “Item Power: Special” perk.
    • Sour Berries: The “Item Power: Special” perk is primarily obtained by using Sour berries when making Donuts.
    • Applying the Effect: Consume the Donut with “Item Power: Special” for entering the Level 4/5   Hyperspace Zone to activate its effects and improve your odds of finding the armor.

    How to Evolve Charcadet

Once you have both a Charcadet and the desired armor item, the evolution process is straightforward. These armors function similarly to any evolution stone. So follow these steps:

    • Open your satchel (inventory).
    • Navigate to the “Items” section and locate either the Auspicious Armor or the Malicious Armor.
    • Select the armor and choose the “Use” option just like you would for an evolution stone.
    • You will then have the option to select a Pokémon from your party (you can’t evolve a Pokémon when it is on your box). Choose your Charcadet.
    • Watch as your Charcadet evolves into Armarouge or Ceruledge.

Pro-Tip to Optimize Your Armor Hunt

As you can easily get one of these armors by just talking to a NPC, you can explore Hyperspace Lumiose before starting the Side Mission 132. Try to find one of the Armor in Hyperspace Lumoise, and you can start the Side Mission afterwards to claim the armor which you lack.

This can shorten your search for the armor as you don’t have to worry about receiving duplicates form the floating Pokéballs.

So in conclusion you do not need to trade to get both Ceruledge and Armarouge in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension. By combining side missions with exploration of Hyperspace Lumiose while using item-boosting donuts, you can obtain both evolution items and evolve multiple Charcadet on your own.
