Food Critic is one of the achievements in Halo Campaign Evolved, and it’s an Easter egg for which the player needs to find a Grunt in the last mission, called The Maw. The achievement doesn’t require you to complete any challenging tasks. You simply need to find the Thirsty Grunt and hear his funny dialogue about his meals. In this guide, we’ll show you the quickest route to reach him and unlock the achievement.
How To Get The Food Critic Achievement
To unlock the Food Critic achievement, you must locate and talk to the Thirsty Grunt in the last mission, The Maw. This task can be performed at any difficulty level; hence, if your goal is only to get the achievement, it is recommended that you pick the easiest one.
To save some time, it’s best to start from Rally Point Charlie, as it puts you straight into the Warthog escape section. Keep driving until you reach the point where Foehammer is shot down by Banshees. After the cutscene, continue with the escape route and drive back inside the tunnels.
How To Reach Thirsty Grunt
There will be two long tunnel segments before you arrive at an area where there are big pillars. Pass by them and enter the tunnel that comes after. As you move forward, keep an eye out for the side tunnels. Ignore the first tunnel on the right and the second tunnel on the left. Stay on the main path.
A bit farther, you will notice that the path will bend to the left, then bend to the left once more around a burning pillar. You will reach this location at approx. 700m-750m from your starting position. Afterwards, you will come across another side tunnel on the right. Enter it, then midway through it, enter the small tunnel that branches out from it. You will find Thirsty Grunt inside. Stay close to him and listen to his humorous lines regarding his diet. After his conversation, the Food Critic achievement will be unlocked.
