Onimusha: Way of the Sword features nine Hozuki Pouches and Skeleton Hozuki collectibles hidden across Kyoto. Some are tucked away in courtyards and rooftops, while others require Oni Power, Oni Vision, or specific quests to access. This guide covers every location and explains how to reach each chest without unnecessary detours.
All Hozuki Pouch and Skeleton Hozuki Locations
There are a total of nine Hozuki Pouches and Skeleton Hozuki available in Onimusha: Way of The Sword. Here’s a quick breakdown on how to get all of them.
Oni Cloth – Regeneration
You’ll find the Oni Cloth (Regeneration) in southeastern Kyoto, but it isn’t accessible from the road. Once at the location, you’ll need to start by entering the courtyard on the right side and make your way through the area until you can climb onto the rooftops.
Use the rooftops to get across and then drop down into the courtyard. Once there, trigger Oni Power to expose the hidden Oni Marker and interact with it to make the chest with the Oni Cloth (Regeneration) appear.
Skeleton Hozuki 1
From the first chest, head towards the left, and you’ll come across the second chest containing the Skeleton Hozuki 1 in the same courtyard.
Oni Cloth – Aggressor
To reach this chest, you’ll need to go to the southwestern part of Kyoto. Start from the south and enter the attic of the house you’ll find on the left to reach the Oni Gate. Crawl through the attic, jump down, and go right by crawling through the opening in the wall. You’ll have to kill two Genmas to open the gate. One can be found inside the attic and the other one could be found in the courtyard.
You’ll need to crawl through another opening in the wall on the left which will take you to the courtyard. It’s best to use Oni Vision to track down the Oni Gate with the chest. Once you find the huge gate with stacks of hay sitting on its right side; open it, defeat the enemies inside, and you’ll find the Oni Power with the chest containing the Oni Cloth (Aggressor).
Skeleton Hozuki 2
On the right side of the same courtyard, you’ll find some black pots on the left. Go there, turn right, and you’ll find the chest containing the Skeleton Hozuki 2.
Skeleton Hozuki 3
Go to the marked location which will take you to the South of Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. On the left, you’ll find a house with a ladder. Climb the ladder to reach the roof of the house and go right from there, run across until you reach the courtyard.
Drop down, go inside the house on the right, go left from there to reach another courtyard. Climb the ladder in the courtyard, drop down again, and go inside the house on the left to find the chest containing Skeleton Hozuki 3.
Oni Cloth – Resistance
After getting the Skeleton Hozuki 3, go around the huge tree, and you’ll come across the Oni Power which will reveal the chest containing the Oni Cloth (Resistance).
Skeleton Hozuki 4
To get to the Skeleton Hozuki 4, you’ll need to go to the northeast of Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Start by defeating the Spider Hand blocking the Oni wall, then enter the area from the left side and defeat the Byakue you’ll find there.
Inside the courtyard, you’ll need to eliminate the Genma while avoiding attacks from the Special Form Hitotsume Gasa. Once you have cleared the area, climb the ladder you’ll find on the northeast scaffolding and use Oni Vision to expose the hidden chest containing the Skeleton Hozuki 4.
Oni Cloth – Awakening
After getting the Skeleton Hozuki 4, go northwest and crawl through the scaffolding. Go towards the left to reach a small structure with the Oni Power that will reveal the chest containing the Oni Cloth (Awakening).
Skeleton Hozuki 5
To get to this chest, you’ll need to first finish the In The Light Of An Icy Moon storyline. After that, you’ll need to start the Hidden Treasure No. 5 side quest. Go over to the marked location and talk with Musashi to begin the quest. She’ll send you searching for the Old Drawing No. 5 which leads you to the Oni treasure chest.
Start by going to the marked location in Spirit Mirror: Yasaka Pagoda. Go inside the house you’ll find on the right, take the ladder up to go to the attic. Use the ladders there to reach the rooftop where you’ll find the Oni Power that reveals the chest with the Skeleton Hozuki 5.
