In Monster Hunter Wilds, Bones are used for crafting weapons and armor, and are obtained from Bonepiles scattered across various regions. These Bonepiles are marked on the map by yellow question-mark icons, which can be filtered and highlighted for efficient farming. Understanding the specific locations and types of bones available in both Low and High Rank areas is crucial for optimizing your equipment upgrades and this guide will provide you with all the Bone Locations in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Bones in Monster Hunter Wilds
As expected, Bones are the remnants of monsters after they perish. In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are two primary ways to obtain them: scavenging Bonepiles for remains of long-dead creatures or hunting down a living monster and ensuring it meets its end.
Bones are just one of many materials needed to craft weapons and armour for yourself and your Palico, alongside ores and various monster parts, which sometimes overlap. Bonepiles look identical across all biomes, so watch your mini-map for the bone icon and look out for the unmistakable piles of bones in the overworld.
Farming Bonepiles in Monster Hunter Wilds
The best time to farm Bones is during Bonepile Upsurges. These random events increase the number of Bonepile nodes in an area and improve the chances of finding rare Bones. To track them, check the Weather Map Overview for each location to see current and upcoming events.
You can also use the map’s Filter Icons feature to highlight Bonepile nodes, making them easier to locate. While the map is open, press the directional keys to access Filter Icons and select Bonepiles to highlight them. Alternatively, you can use this feature to mark Bonepiles as waypoints one at a time, allowing your Seikret to automatically transport you to each location.
Note: The Geologist skill is essential for farming Bonepiles, as it increases the number of items gathered from each node. Only one level of Geologist is needed for efficient Bonepile farming.

The available Bones vary between Low-Rank and High-Rank environments. Upon reaching High-Rank, new Bones become accessible, while Low-Rank-exclusive Bones, such as Mystery Bone, can still be obtained by replaying Low-Rank Optional Quests.
