How to Get Hunter Symbol 2 in Monster Hunter Wilds

Within the vast and treacherous world of Monster Hunter Wilds, the quest for ever greater power compels hunters to battle the most powerful of monsters. Among the highly prized rewards for such bold ventures are Hunter Symbols, essential crafting materials for realizing the potential for truly outstanding equipment. Notably, the rare Hunter Symbol 2 is a requirement for those who have reached the height of their hunting abilities. This handbook will explore the ways of obtaining these precious symbols, explaining the tempered monsters who possess them and their crucial role in creating endgame gear, so you’re properly prepared to tame the wilderness.

How to Get Hunter Symbol 2

To get Hunter Symbols 2 in Monster Hunter Wilds, players need to reach Hunter Rank 31 or higher. These items start appearing in 6-star-difficulty tempered monster quests, which typically show up before the “Storm-Cold Vortex” main mission — though this timing may vary from player to player.

How to Report to Dogard (Location) in Monster Hunter Wilds

The following tempered monsters can drop Hunter Symbols 2:

    • Tempered Doshaguma
    • Tempered Guardian Doshaguma
    • Tempered Rathalos
    • Tempered Guardian Rathalos
    • Tempered Gravios
    • Tempered Jin Dahaad
    • Tempered Guardian Fulgur Anjanath
    • Tempered Blangonga
    • Tempered Xu Wu
    • Tempered Ajarakan
    • Tempered Guardian Ebony Odogaron

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the only way to get Hunter Symbols is by hunting Tempered Monsters during quests. These are tougher versions of Large Monsters, with more health and the ability to deal greater damage than their regular counterparts. Tempered Monsters have survived countless battles, growing stronger and rising to the top of their ecosystem. If you take on a quest to hunt a Tempered Monster and succeed — whether by killing or capturing it — you’ll earn at least one Hunter Symbol as a reward.

How to Use Hunter Symbol 2

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Hunter Symbols are essential crafting materials used to forge powerful weapons and armor, much like monster parts. They work similarly to monster Certificates, allowing you to build entirely new armor pieces or upgrade your weapons.

When crafting endgame gear—like weapons at the end of a crafting tree or high-level armor sets—you’ll often need at least one type of Hunter Symbol. Any weapon of Rarity 8 or higher will always require a Hunter Symbol to craft, and the same goes for armor of that rarity once you unlock them in the endgame.

To check what materials you need, just talk to Gemma at any base camp you’ve set up—she’ll show you if Hunter Symbols are part of the crafting requirements. Since Hunter Symbols are rarer than most monster parts, it’s a good idea to keep them whenever they show up in your quest rewards. Don’t sell them—any extras will be safely stored in your Item Box along with your other crafting materials, ready for when you need to create or upgrade your gear.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets.
