How to Craft Tranq Bombs in Monster Hunter Wilds

Tranq Bombs are an indispensable tool for hunters in Monster Hunter Wilds, offering a reliable way to capture monsters rather than slaying them. This guide will walk you through the simple process of crafting these crucial items, from gathering the necessary ingredients to understanding their various applications in the field. No matter if you are an experienced hunter or a first-time player to the series, learning the techniques of Tranq Bomb crafting will greatly improve your hunting experience.

    How to Make Tranq Bombs

Tranq Bombs are a key tool for any hunter in Monster Hunter Wilds. They’re essential for putting monsters to sleep, a crucial step in capturing them. Since you can’t buy Tranq Bombs from the provisions shop, you’ll have to craft them yourself using materials you gather while exploring.

To craft a Tranq Bomb, you’ll need 1 Sleep Herb and 1 Parashroom. Once you have those, open the in-game menu, go to the “Items & Equipment” tab, and select “Crafting List” at the top. Look for Tranq Bomb, it’s number 046 on the list, and craft it from there. You can access the Crafting List anytime, but keep in mind that you can only craft Tranq Bombs if you have the ingredients with you. If they’re stored in your Item Box at your Tent, you’ll need to grab them first.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can also craft Tranq Ammo and Tranq Blades using Tranq Bombs, with Tranq Blades being unlimited, so how you use your tranquilizers really comes down to your playstyle.

    Here’s the crafting breakdown:

    • Tranq Bomb (046): Sleep Herb + Parashroom
    • Tranq Ammo (047): Tranq Bomb + Normal Ammo
    • Tranq Blade (048): Tranq Bomb + Throwing Knife
How to Catch a Grand Escunite (Location) in Monster Hunter Wilds

    Sleep Herbs Location

In the early stages of Monster Hunter Wilds, you can find Sleep Herbs in area 10 of the Windward Plains, the game’s first region. Cross the river, and you’ll spot three Sleep Herbs scattered around that you can gather. As you progress, the most efficient way to stock up on Sleep Herbs for crafting Tranq Bombs is through Material Retrieval. Two characters can help with this: Murtabak in Kunafa (Windward Plains) and Apar in Suja.

    Parashroom Location

To get Parashrooms in Monster Hunter Wilds, head to areas 7 and 8 of the Scarlet Forest, there are four Parashrooms growing close to each other. If you want a steady supply, your best option is to unlock Material Retrieval. You can assign NPCs in two places, Oilwell Basin and Wyveria, to gather Parashrooms for you. Both are equally effective, so if you’re planning to stock up on Tranq Bombs, it’s a good idea to have both collecting Parashrooms. That way, you’ll always have plenty on hand.

    How to Use Tranq Bombs

Tranq Bombs show up in your Item Pouch, the menu in the lower-right corner of your screen. To open it, hold Ctrl (PC), Left Bumper (Xbox), or L1 (PlayStation), then use the scroll wheel, X/B (Xbox), or Square/Circle (PlayStation) to cycle through your items until you find the Tranq Bombs. Once selected, you can throw a Tranq Bomb at your feet by pressing the item button, E (PC), X (Xbox), or Square (PlayStation). Keep in mind that you can’t aim Tranq Bombs, but you can aim Tranq Blades and Tranq Ammo.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
