In Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, you need to find the proper food for the direwolf Freki that is being taken care of by Ilsa in order to accomplish the mission of A Direwolf Delicacy. The game does not inform you about Freki’s preferred meal. You will have to talk to Ilsa and Dorin. In this guide, we’ll show you how to complete the quest, where to find Snowdeer Bones, and what rewards you can get.
A Direwolf Delicacy Quest

The starting point for this Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen quest is the Norgandian Settlement located in Norgan, and it requires you to talk to Ilsa. But before beginning the quest, you should finish the previous quest, In for a Hare, In for a Hound. Go to Ilsa at the Norgandian Settlement and speak to her. She will comment that her hound, Freki, is hungry, and wishes to give it something to eat.
There’s no indication of what her choice of meal to give would be, so you can hand over any meat in your inventory. She will initially reject them all until she gives you the hint of what she really wants. In short, you need to give her a Snowdeer Bone for Freki to eat. At first, the quest does not tell anything about the food requirement of Freki.
How to Get Food For A Direwolf Delicacy
You may try giving Ilsa any kind of meat three times, but ultimately she will ask you to talk to her father, Dorin. He will tell you where to collect Snowdeer Bone. After gathering the required item, hand the Snowdeer Bone to Ilsa and wait for a day to pass. Return to Ilsa and talk to her to complete the quest. She will reward you the following for completing A Direwolf Delicacy quest.:
- 20,000 XP
- 3x Dragon Beast-Steaks
- Hound’s Scent Pouch
Snowdeer Bones Location

You need to hunt down Snowdeers to obtain Snowdeer Bones. These creatures are quite commonly found in the forest areas of Norgan, but are more saturated in the northern section of the map. The best spawn area for Snowdeers is at the North Valgrian Forstgrove. Similar to other creatures roaming the region, Snowdeers are quite finicky. You need to use ranged attacks like arrows or spells to deal with them. Luckily, they are not very tough and can be taken down with a few shots, which will help you collect the required Snowdeer Bones and complete the Direwolf Delicacy quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen.
