With the Rot and Ruin update for Grounded 2, there are two additional trinkets that you could use to increase your offensive capabilities when fighting. The Ichor of Dread will cause summoned bugs to explode upon their deaths, whereas the Kingly Memento would allow you to hurt your enemies by pulling off perfect blocks. The two trinkets are located in the termite nest near the woodpile. In this guide, we’ll explain how to get both trinkets and what their special effects do.
How to Get the New Trinkets in the Rot and Ruin Update
In Grounded 2, the Rot and Ruin update includes two new trinkets that could be useful for building a good combat profile. These include Ichor of Dread and Kingly Memento. Both of these trinkets can be located in the termite nest close to the woodpile, although you would need to kill two different bosses to obtain them.
How to Get the Ichor of Dread

The Icker of Dread can be acquired through theft from the centipede boss in the termite nest. Initially, proceed to the entrance of the wood pile and go through the termite nest up to the sacrificial pit where you would summon the centipede.
Prior to starting the battle, put on Sticky Fingers and Stage 2 Rascal Rogue. Ensure that you are not engaged with any other enemy at all before summoning the boss. Equip yourself with a weapon that attacks quickly like the spear, then start attacking the centipede in order to steal something.

Using both trinkets, you should be able to steal two items during the battle, but you may acquire usual drops such as Centipede Segment or Centipede Leg rather than the trinket. In this case, reload your saved game and continue the battle until you finally manage to steal the Icker of Dread.

When you have the trinket, you do not have to kill the centipede. You may unequip your armor and surrender the battle if you wish. The trinket remains yours even if you do so.
Ichor of Dread Trinket Effect
The Ichor of Dread is best used by summoner builds because of its passive effect, which causes summoned bugs to explode on death and therefore deal further damage to adjacent enemies. This passive effect is ideal for summoner builds that make use of termite soldiers in battle. After death, your summoned bugs will explode and give you some added damage in combat. But since this trinket works best for summoner builds, it may not prove very useful if you prefer fighting your enemies head-on.
How to Get the Kingly Memento

The second one, Kingly Memento, is acquired after robbing this item from the Ogre Termite King. The boss can be reached from the very same location where the centipede is summoned, which is just above the sacrificial pit.

Instead of falling down the sacrificial pit, move closer to the rocks near this place. Search for a cracked rock blocking a passageway, and destroy it using an explosive. After making your way to this place, enter the passage and take a right turn to the location where the O.G.R.R Termite King is present.

Again, wear Sticky Fingers and Rascal Rogue, Stage 2. Remember that there is no auto-save at this point in the game, and thus you need to save it yourself before starting the battle. Jump into the arena and battle the O.G.R.R Termite King. Utilize a weapon that attacks quickly to give you an advantage when stealing things.
After getting two items from the enemy, reset your game if the trinket has not been given to you yet. Continue battling until you manage to steal the Kingly Memento. Defeating the boss is optional but not needed to get the trinket. Even if you get killed or abandon the fight, you’ll still retain your reward.
Kingly Memento Trinket Effect
The Kingly Memento allows the user to execute the Splinter Barrage ability. Upon successfully executing a perfect block, the user will launch a barrage of splinters against the enemy, causing extra damage.
It is an ideal weapon for those who block their opponent’s moves. Based on the tests, damage was inflicted on the enemy each time the player made a perfect block, making it an ideal weapon for extra damage without changing the way he fights.
For those who prefer to block or parry the attacks rather than dodging them, the Kingly Memento is worth a try. This weapon is beneficial when dealing with difficult enemies because every perfect block means extra damage.
