Finding the Intricate Key is critical if you hope to make your way into Mörkhalla in Valheim 1.0. You cannot simply enter the dungeon because you will need to locate the Intricate Key Mould and craft it from materials found in the Deep North region of the game. This can take a while if you don’t know what to look for.
How To Get The Intricate Key Mould
First, you need to obtain the Intricate Key Mould. This is obtainable in the Winding Tunnels by destroying wooden rubble found within the dungeon. This isn’t a guaranteed drop, and it depends entirely on RNG. To increase your chances, you should destroy any debris you come across while exploring the Winding Tunnels.
The other way is fighting boss enemies, since these enemies are more likely to give the mould than the destroying debris. Some enemies that have a chance of dropping the mold are the Elaking or Eyeless One.
Getting the Black Forge, Frost Foundry, and Frigid Kiln
You will require three unique structures to craft the Intricate Key. First up is the Black Forge, which is required to create the cast using the mould you had collected earlier. If you don’t have the Black Forge yet, you will require:
- 10x Black Marble
- 10x Yggdrasil Wood
- 5x Black Core
Then, visit your Workbench to craft the workstation, then upgrade the Black Forge to level 4 to start creating casts. After that, you need some Liquid Frost, which is only created in the Frigid Klin. Take the following materials to the Workbench to create the Klin:
- 20x Stone
- 10x Frostcore
- 5x Ice
You can add Ice to the Klin to make Liquid Frost. Alongside that, to create the Frost Foundry, head over to the Workbench with these materials:
- 15x Iron
- 20x Stone
- 10x Frostcore
How To Craft The Intricate Key
After obtaining the Intricate Key Mould, go to Level 4 Black Forge, where you will be able to use the mould with five Blood Gold Ingots in order to craft a cast of the Intricate Key. In case you lack the required number of Blood Gold, you will have to kill the Gammeltroll and petrify it. Then, destroy it using Ember Charges to get Petrified Tissues.
After that, take the Petrified Tissues to the Blast Furnace to craft Blood Gold using Coal as an additional ingredient. Once you obtain Blood Gold Ingots, use the Intricate Key to cast in the Frost Foundry. In addition, you will have to use Liquid Frost at the Frost Foundry. Finally, after gathering all materials, wait a couple of seconds for the Intricate Key to be crafted.
How To Find Mörkhalla
Once you obtain the Intricate Key, make your way into the snow-covered regions of the Deep North in search of Mörkhalla. This dungeon consists of huge and dark buildings, which makes it easier to find in such a snowy environment.
When you have reached Mörkhalla, make use of your grappling hook to gain access to the building. Move downward via the staircase till you reach the gates, interact with the gates and unlock them using the Intricate Key.
