The Swamp camp is the most Naturalistic place in the Gothic and one of the hardest places to navigate, unlike other camps, and trying to join the Brotherhood is not just about doing quests, manual work, and magical awareness, but also needs to be politically savvy, as Chapter 1 begins by trying to impress at least four Baal to get a blessing from Kor Colam.
This guide will help impress Baal Orun and Baal Cadar, as these three quests are interlinked. This guide will show how our journey starts with Ghorim’s replacement, to the swampweed harvest to impress Baal Orun, and seamlessly using the rewards from previous quests to impress Baal Cadar.
How to the quest to impress Baal Orun
Initially, none of the baals will speak to you, but novices will. A novice named Ghorim in the mashing troughs is fed up working straight for two days, as his replacement was lazy and refused to change his shift.
How to get to mashing troughs
Mashing troughs are located close to the entrance of the swamp scamp. We will start by passing the guards at the entrance, head straight until we come across a wooden ramp, a large tree, and two members of the swamp camp standing, walk past them to their right. As shown in the image below
After passing them and the wooden ramp, you will come across wooden swamp huts. Just follow the curved path to your right as shown in the image below
Once you pass those huts and the connecting wooden ramp, look immediately to your left. You will see the entrance to the mashing troughs as shown in the image below.
Go inside the mashing trough and speak directly to Ghorim. He will explain that he has been working for two days and needs a break, and his replacement won’t show up, and ask us to help find Harlok at the lab, who is smoking weed.

Finding Harlok walkthrough
Exit the mashing troughs and immediately take a left, follow the path along a wooden ramp, as shown in the image below.
Follow the path until you reach a temple where one of the Baal Cadar preaching novices, from there take a right and pass through the wooden ramp, as shown in the image below.
After crossing the wooden ramp, take a left to reach the alchemist’s lab beside that, where you will find the camp’s weed shop. Harlok will be standing right there smoking weed, as shown in the image below.
Go to him and confront him to get to his post and relieve Goharim; he will refuse, beat him up, while he is on the ground, intimidate him by speaking, then he will agree to go to take over the shift, follow him to the mashing troughs, and speak to Goharim, which concludes the quest.
Swamweed Harvest quest guide
Prerequisite
You must complete Ghorim’s replacement to get the quest.
After completing the Ghorims quest, Baal Orun will finally acknowledge you and will task you to collect swamweed from his novices, Viran and Balor, and deliver it to Cor Kalom’s.
We have to gather weed from two different places, which are on opposite sides of the camp, where we start the quest by going to Balor
Walkthrough
Exit the mashing through; as you head out, look for a wooden direction board from there, slightly walk towards the right, as shown in the image below.
Look for a path through the large hallowed tree bark, which leads you to the weed harvest location, as shown in the image below
Balor will be on the floors. Tell him that Baal orun has sent to collect the weed, and he will hand over the weed. Keep the weed with you, go to the next weed collection point.
Start by taking the left path from the mashing troughs and walk through the wooden pathway, which will curve to the left, as shown in the image below.
Walk until you reach a wooden directional board in the center, as shown in the image below.
Just take a few steps until you see another direction board to your left, and take a sharp right. There lies a hidden, narrow pathway, as shown in the image below.
Just follow this path past the guard to the second weed harvest field, as shown in the image below.
Follow the wooden pathway through the large tree bark tunnel.
Once you arrive, speak to Viran, who will ask you to kill all the blood flies to get weed and clear all the fields around you. He will hand over the weed and deliver it to the Cor Kalom, and head back to the Baal Orun. In reward, he will give you the sleeping scroll and this vote.
Impressing Baal Cadar
Prerequisite
Must have a sleeping Scroll.
Directions to the Baal Cadar location in the above article. Follow them and reach the preaching place. Use the sleeping scroll on one of his novices when he is preaching, immediately walk to Ball Cadar, and initiate a conversation. He will say he is impressed by your skills and will recommend you to Cor Kalom.
