Ready to stop getting one shot and actually enjoy the fights? Armor upgrades and the elusive Master’s Tools are the difference between patchwork survival gear and a set that carries you through late game encounters. This guide breaks down on how to upgrade your current armor, craft new high tier armor and get the Master’s Tools – so you can craft smarter, upgrade faster and look like you mean business on the battlefield.
Armor and Clothing Workshop

To get started with the armor upgrades, you’re going to need to set up the Armor and Clothing Workshop which can be found in the crafting tab of the building menu. Just make sure you’ve set up the armor and clothing workshop under a roof, because if it’s not then you can’t interact with the workshop.

You can upgrade current equipped gear at the upgrade tab but also you can create a high tier version of the same gear if you don’t want to spend time upgrading it every level. There’s a preset of tier 6 and 11 at the create tab, which are going to specific resources like for tier 6, you’re going to need linen fabric which can be crafted through flax fiber which is obtainable in the Foothills biome and tier 11 requires resources that can be obtainable in the Cursed Swamps biome like the tanned fabric and crocodile hide.
Obtaining Master’s Tools

Master’s Tools is a unique resource that cannot be crafted through a workbench but is purchasable from the provisioner of Rogue Buccaneers. You can find their provisioner at Tortuga or you can progress their faction quest to reach their base.
Once you’ve gathered the required resources, you can craft your desired armor or clothing or even upgrade them to their fullest. These upgrades will make you last longer during battles.
