If you want to make some money in Crimson Desert, crafting gold bars is one of the best ways to do it. Gold bars sell for a lot of silver, and once you know the recipes and farming spots, you can keep making them as much as you want. In this guide, we will walk you through how to get the gold bar recipe, the different ways to craft them, and how to invest them at the Bank in Pywel to grow your wealth.
How to Make a Gold Bar

Gold bars require an alchemy formula, which is found at the topmost area of the Spire of Insight that is situated in the Steel Mountains, towards the south side of the map. First, remove the bandits surrounding the area. Once you reach the entrance, you will notice that it is surrounded by thorns. Use the light power to burn off the thorns and move forward.
Near the entrance, there is a pebble lying on the ground. Pick it up and place it in the pot beside the entrance door. This activates the mechanism and opens the door. Head up to the third floor of the Spire of Insight, and you’ll find the alchemy formula pinned on one of the shelves. Grab it from there.
How to Craft Gold Bars
There are multiple recipes:
Smithy Method
- 100 Gold Ore = 1 Gold Bar
This works, but it is very slow and expensive.
Witch Method
- 3 Gold Ore
- 1 Golden Apple
This is cheaper, but golden apples are hard to farm.
Best Farming Method
The most reliable recipe uses:
- 3 Brimstone
- 3 Mercury
- 10 Silver Ore
Since all three materials can be farmed repeatedly, this becomes the best long-term method.
A strong box will cost you 100 Silver in any Bank within Pywel. After opening one, you can then move forward to deposit the Gold Bar, and after this is done, you decide where you would like to invest your money: low risk, medium risk, or high risk.
