Exquisite Scenery is a powerful Tome in Where Winds Meet. If you use the Thundercry Blade and like counterattacking after well-timed blocks, this Tome is especially worth unlocking. In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find Exquisite Scenery, how to earn it by defeating the Shadow Puppeteer world boss, and how to defeat him.
How to get the Exquisite Scenery

To get Exquisite Scenery, you will need to defeat the Shadow Puppeteer – Muqi World Boss in Bamboo Abode, located in Qinghe. The first time you beat him, you will see a short cutscene, and afterwards you will receive several rewards, one of them being the Exquisite Scenery Tome.
With Exquisite Scenery unlocked, your Thundercry Blade becomes much more reactive. Any time you successfully defend with it, you will trigger a unique counterattack. When this happens, you can instantly follow up by pressing your Perception Skill or Heavy Attack to unleash the first stage of a Charged Heavy Attack without having to charge it up. This bonus can only activate once every ten seconds. On top of that, whenever you land a hit with a Varied Combo, you will restore one bar of Battle Will, but only one bar per cast.
How to defeat the Shadow Puppeteer
In the first phase, the Puppeteer keeps things pretty straightforward. He mainly attacks with his glaive, so this is the perfect time to focus on parrying. Each successful parry drains his Qi, and that’s how you push him toward exhaustion. Once he finishes a combo, you’ll have a small opening to land a few hits. After that, back off and go right back to parrying until the second phase starts.
When phase two begins, the fight changes completely. The Puppeteer jumps into the air and starts the Puppet Show, switching the camera to a top-down view. Here, he shows up as a shadow that attacks you directly, while Puppet Soldiers move around the arena at the same time. Your main job is to parry the shadow’s attacks, as this is what builds Qi damage and wears him out. At the same time, make sure you dodge the Puppet Soldiers, because their attacks can’t be blocked at all. If you keep parrying the shadow cleanly and avoid the soldiers, you’ll end this phase much faster and force the Puppeteer back down.
