In Ghost of Yotei, Sword Kits are special cosmetic items that let you change the look of your weapons, giving each blade a unique style and personality. These kits can be found all across Yotei hidden near Pillars of the Fallen, earned from bounties, or bought from merchants in different regions. Some are rewards for completing quests or defeating powerful enemies, while others require a bit of exploration to uncover. In this guide, we will show you where to find all Sword Kit locations in Ghost of Yotei, so you can customize your weapons and make your samurai stand out.
All Sword Kit Locations
Kits in Ghost of Yotei are cosmetic items that let you change how your weapons look. To use them, open the Gear Menu and go to the Melee section. Choose the weapon you want to customize, then press the Square button to see and apply any kits you’ve unlocked.

A Beast’s Feast


You will find the Beast’s Feast after completing the Bear Man Chikatoshi Bounty. You will find him in Tokachi Range in Shizunai Woods. Look for a big rock in the grassland area, you will find him just near the rock. After defeating him, you will get 750 coins and A Beast’s Feast.
Aranami’s Claw


After reaching the Pillar of Fallen in Tokachi Range, you will find the Aranami’s Claw. You need to follow the Niikappu River, north of stream, till you reach the Niikappu falls. The Pillar of Fallen can be found in front a giant waterfall on a small island, inside the lake.
Blood in Snow

You will find the Blood in Snow katana in the south side of the Hakodake Mountains, which is present in the east of Sarobetsu Lake. You need to climb up the cliff to reach Blood in Snow katana. Use you grapling hook and climb through the stones to Pillar of the Fallen. On the Pillar of the Fallen, you will find the Blood in Snow katana.
Blood Rust Honey


To find the Blood Rust Honey, go to the Tokachi Range. You will find a Pillar of the Fallen in the centre of orange trees. You will find the Blood Rust Honey katana just at the foot of the pillar.
Bones of Gashadokuro


To find the Bones of Gashadokuro, start by heading north from the Yotei Grasslands and follow the Nupur River straight ahead. Keep going until the landscape opens up into a wide field. Right in the center of this area, you will spot the Pillar of the Fallen standing beside a twisted, winding tree.
Crimson Yokai


To find the Crimson Yokai, start from the Matsumae Encampment in the Ishikari Plain’s starting area and travel west. Keep an eye on your map and move just above the Otaru Hills. There, on a cliff overlooking the area, you will come across the Pillar of the Fallen beside a large tree covered in red flowers.
Crushing Hebi


To get the Crushing Hebi challenge, you will need to defeat Muneji the Bone Crusher. Head south from Shirahige Falls in the Yotei Grasslands until you find the Saito Compound. Once you enter, you will find Muneji waiting right in the middle of the compound, ready for a fight.
Demon’s Mercy


You can get the Demon’s Mercy by buying it from the Crimson Dye Merchant. This merchant is located near Stone Jaw Coast, just north of Ishikari Castle in the Ishikari Plain. The dye costs 15 Flowers, so make sure you have enough before visiting.
Gilded Night & Gilded Dawn


To get the Gilded Dawn & Gilded Dawn, make your way to the peak of Mount Yotei, where you will face Takezo in battle. Defeat him, and you will earn this item as your reward.
Ginkgo’s Reckoning


You can find Ginkgo’s Reckoning on the far eastern side of Lake Shitotsu. When you reach the area, you will see that the main path is blocked by a rock slide. Instead of turning back, go left of the rock slide there’s a narrow walkway that will lead you straight to the Pillar of the Fallen. You will find the Ginkgo’s Reckoning at the foot of the pillar.
Hunger in Twilight


To get Hunger in Twilight, you will need to complete the bounty for Tadaaki the Terrible. Pick up the bounty from Oshima Coast, then make your way to Miyama Village, where you will find your target waiting. Finish the job to earn the item as your reward.
Hunter’s Vigilance


To find the Hunter’s Vigilance, start from Husko Kotan and head southwest until you come across a cliff wall you can climb. The Pillar of the Fallen is located on one of the cliffs at the northern base of the Niptay Mountains. Be ready for a bit of climbing and a fight with a hostile bear along the way. Keep following the path, then turn left when you reach a rock slide. After passing it, turn right, and you will spot the pillar ahead.
Inari’s Ruse


The Kawikawa Trading Post Pillar can be found to the west of the trading post. To reach it, you will need to do some climbing. Head north from the Sakuru Woods, and near the Red Crane Inn, you will spot a tall rock formation. Walk around its base until you find the climbing spot marked with white paint. From there, use your grapple hook to climb up and reach the top, where the Pillar of the Fallen awaits. Your reward for finding it is Inari’s Ruse.
Infamous Strike


The Otaru Beach Pillar is located on a hill southwest of the Nishin Fishery in the Ishikari Plain. To get there, head to the far southwest area and make your way toward the Sun’s Peak Shrine entrance. Once you arrive, take a left and go past the rope barrier. Keep moving forward, and you will find the Pillar of the Fallen. Your reward for reaching it is Infamous Strike.
Kaeru’s Fortune


To find Kaeru’s Fortune, start by heading west from Oiso Fishing Village into the nearby forest. Before you reach the Otsuri River, keep an eye out for two large rocks near the edge of the area. Climb onto one of the rocks and use your grapple hook to pull down a tree, which will give you access to the second rock. From there, you can reach the Pillar of the Fallen sitting at the top.
Koromodako’s Reach


To get Koromodako’s Reach, head to the northern part of Ishikari Plain and follow the Rumoi River all the way upstream. As you make your way east along the river, you will eventually come across a waterfall. Just to the right of the waterfall, among the grass, you will find the Pillar of the Fallen waiting for you.
Last Breath


You will find the Last Breath Katana weapon kit from Oshima coast merchant, which can be found near the Matsumae Castle. You will need 8 flowers to buy it from the merchant.
Lone Wolf

The Lone Wolf dye is the default Katana color that Atsu starts with at the very beginning of the game. You will have it from the moment you start playing.
Lotus of Fortune

The Lotus of Fortune is available if you purchase or upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei. This edition comes with a bunch of in-game content, including cosmetics, dyes, maps, and more. If you pre-order, you will also get an extra bonus on top of all the deluxe perks. Note that this is a digital-only purchase, priced at $79.99.
Masaru’s Claw


To find Masaru’s Claw, start at Teshio Ridge and head north into the Sakuru Woods. Keep to the eastern side, and just before entering the woods on the map, look for a nearby cliff you can climb. Make your way to the top, and along the edge, you will find the Pillar of the Fallen waiting for you.
Mountain Bear’s Pride


You can get Mountain Bear’s Pride in Ezo by defeating Manjuro the Bear during his third open-world encounter.
Mourning Kimono


You can get the Mourning Kimono by buying it from the Crimson Dye Merchant. You will find this merchant near Stone Jaw Coast, just north of Ishikari Castle in the Ishikari Plain, and the dye costs 15 Flowers. It is used in Wolf’s Blade.
Nameless Death


Pick this one up from Red Crane Inn. Head west to “Snow’s Blight Shrine.” Rescue a hostage there, then solve a shrine puzzle involving torches and fox statues. This opens a secret path to the hidden Yotei Six Camp: Snow’s Blight Hideout. Clear out all enemies in the camp, then defeat the leader, this is the Nameless Killer. You will be rewarded with 2000 Coins and Sword Kit: Nameless Death.
Noble Mist


You can get Noble Mist by visiting the Pillar of the Fallen near the Yotei River. Start south of the Outcrop Homestead, northeast of Master Heijiro’s Garden, and follow the river east. You will come across a hill decorated with white petals from nearby trees at the top of this hill, you will find the Pillar of the Fallen and claim Noble Mist.
Raven Fortress


To reach the Raven Fortress, start by heading southeast toward Kasuga Village, then continue past the Yotei Six Camp toward Esan Inlet. You will come across a cliff where you can run, jump, and use your grapple hook to grab a tree branch. Follow the path along the branch, and it will lead you directly to the Pillar of the Fallen.
Regal Punisher


To find Regal Punisher, make your way to the northern part of the Crimson Forest. From there, head west up the snowy mountain. At the top of the cliff, you will discover the Pillar of the Fallen and the Regal Punisher.
Sakura in Moonlight


You can find Sakura in Moonlight in the Masumae Residences on Oshima Coast, just south of where you arrive. Once inside the residences, head toward the main castle, then take a left toward the cherry blossom trees. From there, take another left, and you will arrive at an open courtyard where the Pillar of the Fallen stands.
Scavenged Victory

You can get Scavenged Victory by buying it from Taro the Scavenger for 15 Flowers. Taro moves around, so you will need to set up camp and invite him over to check what he has for sale. This item is used for crafting the Wolf Blade.
Shinpachi’s Blush


To complete the Shinpachi the Armor Thief bounty, head southeast from Oshima Coast toward Esan Inlet until you reach Kasuga Village. This village is home to a Yotei Six Camp. Take out the enemies there, then challenge the leader to a duel to finish the bounty. Completing it will reward you with 2,000 Coins and the Shinpachi’s Blush Armor Dye.
Silken Bloom


You can find Silken Bloom at the Pillar of the Fallen in Shizunai Woods. Follow the river past Serpent’s Pass, and when you get close to Shizunai Woods, leave the river. From Huranui’s Rest Inn, head south and look for a hill by the river at the top of this hill, you will discover the Pillar of the Fallen and claim Silken Bloom.
Smiling Kabuto-Mushi



You can get Smiling Kabuto-Mushi by defeating Smiling Yoshimoto. Head to the Weary Traveler’s camp near Tranquil Falls and set up your camp. This will trigger a cutscene of someone arriving, which quickly turns into a battle with Smiling Yoshimoto. Defeat him to claim the item.
Starlight Abyss


You can find Starlight Abyss at the Pillar of the Fallen on Mount Yotei. Start at the entrance to the Mount Yotei Shrine on the western side of the Yotei River. Follow the shrine’s path and climb all the way up to the mountain’s snowy peak. Then, follow the ridge around to the back, where you will come across the Pillar of the Fallen and claim Starlight Abyss.
Storm Blade


To unlock the Storm Blade, you need to complete the Storm Blade Mythical Tale mission. To start this quest, head southwest of Oshima Coast to the Forgotten Shrine and find Ugetsu. Speak with the storyteller at the steps of the shrine to begin your journey.
Tanuki’s Bounty


The Iwor Mountains Pillar is located deep in a small forest to the east of the Iwor Mountains. Head north into the mountains, and as you make your way through the forest, you will come across the Pillar of the Fallen. Claiming it will reward you with Tanuki’s Bounty.
Tanuki’s Mischief


You can get the Tanuki’s Mischief Katana for 15 Flowers from the Blue Dye Merchant. You will find this merchant at Otsuki River in the western part of Oshima Coast. Tanuki’s Mischief gives Atsu’s katana a playful, raccoon-inspired sheath, making the blade look fluffy and unique.
The Dragon’s Empire

You get The Dragon’s Empire by completing Chapter 2. At the end of the chapter, you will face and need to defeat The Dragon. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
The Kitsune’s Shadow

To get The Kitsune’s Shadow, you first need to defeat The Kitsune in the Kitsune Revenge Tale. Once that’s done, visit any Gift Altar to claim the Onryo’s Gift, which gives you the weapon. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
The Snake’s Bite

To get The Snake’s Bite, defeat any member of the Yotei Six except for The Snake. After that, visit an Onryo Gift Altar to claim The Snake’s Bite. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
The Spider’s Snare

You can get The Spider’s Snare by completing the Call of the Hunt tale. At the end of this quest, you will face and need to defeat The Spider, and the weapon is yours right after the battle. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
Tiger’s Fang

You will get the Tiger’s Fang Katana weapon kit by killing Lord Saito at the end of the story as a reward. It can be used to customise the wolf blade.
Toyotaro’s Fang


Defeat Houndmaster Toyotaro to earn 750 Coins and the Toyotaro’s Fang Weapon Kit. You can find him on the northwest path from the Red Crane Inn, heading toward the Teshio River in the Teshio Ridge area.
Twin Wolves

To get the Twin Wolves, you need start the The Belly of the Beast quest in Ishikari Plain. After completing the quest, you will get the Twin Wolves as a reward.
Untamed Loyalty


You can get Untamed Loyalty by progressing through The Loss We Carry quest. At the end of the quest, you will need to feed the bear to claim it. To start the quest, head northeast from Yotei’s Shadow Inn and follow the Serpent’s Pass River until you reach the Prospector’s Camp. There, you will find Toku with his bear by the river. Talk to him and join him at his camp to unlock the quest.
Unyielding Tempest


To find Unyielding Tempest, go to the southern edge of the Yotei Grasslands at the Southern Coast. Stay on the hill before descending to the shoreline, and follow the cliff to the left until you find a spot to drop down. Continue along this path and climb across to reach the Pillar of the Fallen on the cliff. There, speak to the grieving woman to claim the Sword Kit.
Wind’s Grace


You can get Wind’s Grace by buying it from the Crimson Dye Merchant. You will find this merchant near Stone Jaw Coast, just north of Ishikari Castle in the Ishikari Plain, and it costs 15 Flowers. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
Wings of Devotion


You can get Wings of Devotion by visiting the Smoky Flower Grove near the Central Ferry in the Tokachi Range. Interact with the candles and flowers there to claim the item. This item is used for the Wolf Blade.
Yae’s Cruel Brew


You can earn 750 Coins and the Yae’s Cruel Brew Sword Kit by completing Old Lady Yae’s bounty. Her bounty is posted on the board at Huranui’s Rest Inn, and she only appears at night. Once it’s nighttime, head north of the Twin Ponds of Hidaka, upstream from the Niikappu River, and you will find her bounty just north of Arata’s Pond in the Tokachi Range.
Yatagarasu’s Judgement


You will find the Yatagarasu’s Judgement Katana weapon kit from Oshima coast merchant, which can be found near the Matsumae Castle. You will need 15 flowers to buy it from the merchant.
Yoshitada’s Fourth Pearl



You can get Yoshitada’s Fourth Pearl by completing The Last Brother bounty. Head to the Ronin Gravesite in the western part of Oshima Coast, just northeast of Shojin Hills, near a tree with white leaves. Along the way, you will need to defeat the ronin guarding the path. Once at the gravesite, speak with The Last Brother and duel him to complete the bounty and claim the pearl.
Yotei’s Charge


To reach the Reliquary Puzzle, follow the northeastern road out of Yotei Grasslands into the Tokachi Range. You will find the puzzle on top of a rocky hill just south of the Prospector’s Camp. Solve it, and you will earn the Yotei’s Charge Weapon Kit, a unique cosmetic sheath for your Katana.
Crafted Defeat

You will get the Crafted Defeat Kusarigama weapon kit at the beginning. You don’t have to do anything extra to unlock it.
Dragonfly’s Breath

You will get the Dragonfly’s Breath Kusarigama weapon kit from Ran the Bowyer for 20 flowers.
Golden Cut


You will find the Golden Cut Kusarigama weapon kit from Oshima coast merchant. Which can be found near the Matsumae Castle. You will need 15 flowers to buy it from the merchant.
Kusarigama of Master Enomoto


You will get the Kusarigama of Master Enomoto Kusarigama weapon kit after completing the Kusarigama’s shame sidequest in Teshio Ridge.
Lily’s Touch


You can get Lily’s Touch by buying it from the Crimson Dye Merchant. You will find the merchant near Stone Jaw Coast, just north of Ishikari Castle in the Ishikari Plain, and it costs 20 Flowers. You can use it on Kusarigama.
Golden Judgement

You can get Golden Judgement from Ran the Bowyer at Yotei’s Shadow Inn in the Yotei Grasslands for 20 Flowers. Before you can buy it, you will need to complete the Way of the Odachi Sensei quest. You can use it on Odachi.
Odachi of Master Yoshida


To get the Odachi of Master Yoshida Odachi weapon kit you have to complete the Master Yoshida’s Final lesson side quest in Tokashi Range.
Omens of the Aurora

You will get the Omens of the Aurora Odachi weapon kit at the beginning. You don’t have to do anything extra to unlock it.
Spirit of the Mountain


To get the Spirit of the Mountain go to the White Dye Merchant. You need to head north of Jade Grove, near the left side of the Yotei River. The merchant is located between Mount Yotei and the river. It’s easy to spot; once you’re close, you will see a bunch of white clothes hanging around the area.
Strength of the Earth


You will find the Strength of the Earth Odachi weapon kit from Oshima coast merchant. Which can be found near the Matsumae Castle. You will need 20 flowers to buy it from the merchant.
The Oni’s Glory

You will find the Oni’s Glory Odachi Weapon Kit as a reward from the Onryo Gift Alter after completing the tale of the Oni’s main quest in Ishikari Plain.
Fisherman’s Heart


To get the Fisherman’s Heart, go to the White Dye Merchant. You need to head north of Jade Grove, near the left side of the Yotei River. The merchant is located between Mount Yotei and the river. It’s easy to spot; once you’re close, you will see a bunch of white clothes hanging around the area.
Rain of Ruin

You can get Rain of Ruin in the Ishikari Plain at Howling Cove on Modaiwa Island. To obtain it, start The Way of the Yari quest with Sensei Takahashi, who will give you the Yari.
Scalding Spear

You can get the Scalding Spear from Ran the Bowyer at Yotei’s Shadow Inn in the Yotei Grasslands for 10 Flowers.
The Gambler’s Spear


To start the Inagawa the Gambler bounty, go to Teshio Ridge and visit the Red Crane Inn. After defeating the bounties Houndmaster Toyotaro and Snowstorm Katagiri, talk to Kojiro the Bounty Hunter, who will give you this new bounty. You will then head to the Bifuka Sake House in Teshio Ridge to complete it. Finishing the bounty rewards you with 1,500 Coins and the Gambler’s Spear Weapon Kit.
Yari of Sensei Takahashi


You can get the Yari of Sensei Takahashi in the Ishikari Plain at the White Deer Woodlands, at Sensei Takahashi’s Dojo. After learning all the Yari techniques, strike the persimmon tree at the dojo. To unlock this, you first need to complete the Path of the Yari Sensei quest.
Dawn’s Reckoning

You can get Gilded Dawn in the Yotei Grasslands at Mount Yotei by completing The Five Teachings Myth quest. This sword kit, along with Gilded Night, becomes available after defeating Takezo the Unrivalled during the quest. To unlock it, you first need to finish the Takezo the Unrivalled Myth quest.
Emerald Scale


You can get Emerald Scale by buying it from the Green Dye Merchant for 5 Flowers. You will find this merchant near Hidaka Grove in the northeastern part of the Tokachi Range.
Spirit of Revenge

You will get the Spirit of Revenge Hankyu weapon kit at the beginning. You don’t have to do anything extra to unlock it.
Traveling Hunter


You will get the Travelling Hunter Hankyu weapon kit after completing the side quest at Ainu hunting grounds.
White Talon


You can get the White Talon Bow Weapon Kit for 5 Flowers from the White Dye Merchant, who can be found in the Yotei Grasslands in Ghost of Yotei.
Wildflower Prick

You can get the Wildflower Prick Hankyu Kit from Ran the Bowyer at Yotei’s Shadow Inn in the Yotei Grasslands. It costs 5 Flowers to buy.
Ashen Glow

You will get the Ashen Glow Yumi Weapon Kit from Ran the Bowyer for 5 flowers after reaching the Tokachi Range.
Death’s Touch

You will get the Death’s Touch Yumi Weapon Kit from Ran the Bowyer for 5 flowers after reaching the Tokachi Range.
Hearth’s Blessing

You will get the Hearth’s Blessing Yumi weapon kit at the beginning. You don’t have to do anything extra to unlock it.
The Eve of Honor

You will get the Death’s Touch Yumi Weapon Kit from Ran the Bowyer for 5 flowers after reaching the Tokachi Range.
