Onimusha: Way of the Sword offers three Oni Portals that you can use in order to unlock new abilities. They are located at various locations throughout Kyoto, and you will have to travel a bit in order to reach them. Follow the steps below to find all three Oni Portals and complete the challenges inside the Oni Realm.
All 3 Oni Portal Locations
To learn new abilities, find Oni Portals throughout the area. Once you get to the correct spot, make contact with the portal to open up the Oni Realm and view a vision from the past. The Oni Portals will not be difficult to find. Simply find the icons representing the portals on your map and use Oni Vision to find the portal.
1. Oni Portal
Start by heading to the location marked on your map. Once you arrive there, you will have to climb the ladder and enter the crawl space. As you can see, the door in front of you is locked. To unlock it, you have to go to its side and find an opening in the fence. From there, you can get a clear shot at the lock. Shoot it to unlock the door, then head inside the Oni Sanctuary.
Once you enter it, you should jump down and make a turn to the right. There is a block blocking your way, which means you should make a shot at it and proceed further. After making some moves, you will come across another block, so you should turn to the right and watch the scene.
2. Oni Portal
Use the Oni Agility ability to pass through the river and go to the crawl space. Use this crawl space, fighting the Genma in your path along the way. After you are done with this, go up the ladder and run on top of the roof. Then jump down and deal with the Genma waiting for you here.
Additionally, you could break the Malice Barrier here for an easier access back. Once you get to the end of this stage, go up the ladder and enter the Oni portal. In this realm, shoot the block in order to create a passage to the other side. After that, grab the Dark Mass to unlock your abilities.
3. Oni Portal
Go inside the Temple Complex and kill the Oni in the courtyard. In the courtyard, you should notice that a spider is blocking your path. To get around the spider, you need to use the crawl space on the left and pass through. Then, climb up the ladder, jump down and kill the spider.
Pass through the door and start battling the Byakue. Some weak Genma will come along with him in the battle and might distract you while battling the boss. After the fight, go through the doorway and climb the ladder. Jump down into the next room, where you’ll have to deal with another group of Genma.
Keep an eye on the back of the room, though, as some enemies may be hiding there and attacking you from a distance. Once you’re ready, head through the second crawl space and continue along the corridor. Finally, open the door ahead to enter the Oni Portal.
