Well, this is one of the general connectivity-related errors. If you are also encountering the same error, this guide has covered all possible workarounds to eliminate it.

How to Fix Black Ops 7 TRAVIS – RILEA Error Connection Failed On PC

According to reports, when this error triggers, players are unable to connect to the game’s online services. Thankfully, this error can be fixed, and this guide will show you what steps you should take to fix it.

1. Delete the Activision Folder

This is one of the most effective solutions to fix the error. Go through the steps below to delete the Activision folder.

  1. First of all, go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Activision
  2. Then, copy the entire folder and paste it on your desktop for backup, and keep it
  3. Now, come back to the folder where you copied the Activision folder (1st Step)
  4. Delete or rename that folder, such as “Activision Old”
  5. Then, close the Window and relaunch the game.

NOTE: If you are unable to locate the AppData folder, then for Windows 10 users >> click on “View” from the menu bar and check the checkbox for ‘Hidden items’.

And for Windows 11 users >> click on View >> select Show, and then check the checkbox on ‘Hidden items’.

2. Delete the CoD Folder

Like the above steps, now we will delete the CoD folder. Follow the steps below to do this:

  1. First of all, go to the Documents folder.
  2. Then, copy the entire Call of Duty folder and paste it into your folder for backup, and keep it.
  3. Now, come back to the Documents folder and delete or rename that folder, such as “CoD Old”
  4. Then, close the Window and relaunch the game.

3. Restart PC & Internet Router/Modem

Some players suggest restarting the PC as well as the internet router/modem can also help to fix the error. To do it properly:

  1. Shut down your PC completely.
  2. Then, power off your internet router/modem and wait for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Next, restart your router first, and then start your PC
  4. Relaunch the game, and the error should be eliminated now.

4. Force Close the Game and Relaunch

If the game gets stuck with the TRAVIS-RILEA error, several players fixed it simply by fully shutting it down from the background and then relaunching.

5. Run Steam or CoD as Administrator

The next best workaround is to run Steam or Call of Duty as an administrator. This trick gives the game full permission to access files, updates, and anti-cheat services. If you have not given certain admin rights, Windows might block these actions and cause the error. To do it:

  1. Close Steam completely
  2. Right-click on the Steam shortcut on your desktop
  3. Select Run as Administrator
  4. Once Steam opens, launch Call of Duty again.

6. Update the Game

Several errors have been fixed for some players after updating the game to the latest version. So, if you are still playing the older version of the game, simply update it and check if you are still encountering the same error. To update: Go to Steam Library >> Right-click on the game >> Properties >> Updates. After updating, relaunch the game.

7. Switch to a Different Network

At times, your internet connection blocks the main servers of the game and causes several errors, including TRAVIS – RILEA. To fix it, try switching to any other WiFi network (If possible), or you can also try switching to a mobile hotspot.

8. Reinstall the Game

If none of the above methods work, your last resort is to uninstall the game completely from your device and then reinstall it from scratch. By doing this, any missing or corrupted game files can also be fixed, which were causing the error.

That’s it for this guide. These are the most potential workarounds to fix the ” Black Ops 7 “TRAVIS – RILEA connection failed error on PC.
