Important Tips for Players
- Restart the Computer: First of all, one needs to restart his computer before going ahead with anything else. This often clears out most problems that can lead to slowdowns in the games.
- Optimize Internet Connection: Your internet has to be fast and reliable if you want to play this game smoothly. Check your connection before you start to play.
- Check your antivirus: Check your antivirus and firewall settings because sometimes these also conflict with the game.
- Run the repair tool: If your game is crashing or running slowly, try using the built-in repair tool. It can fix any damaged game files that might be causing problems.
- Use Ethernet Connection: If you’re having trouble connecting to the game, try using an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi, because in general, Ethernet is more reliable and rarely experiences those problems compared with Wi-Fi.
- Disable Addons: Sometimes, your game might be suffering because of some addons you have installed. Make sure your addons are up-to-date and try disabling them one by one to see if any are causing issues.
- Check for corrupted files: In case of technical troubles concerning the gameplay, reset the user interface and clear the cache. At times, it solves problems that occurred from corrupted game files.
How to Check the Current Server Status of World of Warcraft
The best place to check if the World of Warcraft servers are working or not is to visit Blizzard’s website. They have a dedicated page for the game that shows if the servers are running, in maintenance, or crashing. Blizzard also shares about the maintenance of servers in their official social media channels. You can follow their official handle to get more information or you can follow us on X, where we update server status regularly.
The only time stamp that was hit was the release of the War Within, and thats due to downloading the new xpac a week in advance, constant extensions of maintenance break has lead to weekly averages of 8 hours – maintenance. For a game that costs an arm and leg, to have weekly downtimes of 8+ hours is just unacceptable. Threads should start anticipating the fact that the game will not meet their expected timeframes. But the point that gets me is why release a continuous expected open time? Why continuously are these marks not hit? Do blizzard developers find a fix, code issuse, balance issue and find a solution but not actually implement it until the maintenance break? What goes on between the release of an expected maintenance and the actual server maintenance? Am I missing something or is it what I expect?
