How to get the Lions Crest

Okay, so you’ve finished the tutorial in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and are finally free to explore. Your first stop should be Troskowitz. Find the scribe Gaibl there and chat with him. He’ll kick off a quest called “The Lion’s Crest.” Gaibl will give you a riddle to solve and also a recipe for crafting a special polearm called Brunswick’s polearm. He won’t just hand it to you, though! You’ll have to hunt down all the necessary ingredients yourself. Once you have everything, head to the blacksmith’s forge and craft the polearm.

Lions Crest Riddle Solution

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

Alright, so you’re looking for the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, and it’s hidden near Trosky Castle. Leave the castle through the north gates and head straight north, going through the forest. Stay on the road and watch the left side of the path carefully. You’ll soon see some interesting rock formations with little gaps you can squeeze through. Go through these rocky bits, and you’ll find a cave with a chapel inside. Next to the chapel, there’s a cross sitting on a rock – examine it! That’s where you’ll find the first piece of the armor, and as a bonus, you’ll also discover two treasure maps to help you along with the rest of the quest.

Location 1

Okay, so you’ve got the first treasure map and it’s pointing you further along the same road you took to the chapel. Keep going west on that road until you hit a crossroads. At the crossroads, turn north and head into the woods. You’re looking for a wolf den. Once you find it, check the trees just above the den. You should find a bag there containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armor.

Location 2

Alright, you’ve got the second treasure map now. This one sends you to the little outpost by Vidlak Pond. Find the fisherman’s house there and take the path that goes behind it. Keep an eye out for another big group of rocks along the cliffs. Climb up to those rocks, and you should find a chest sitting right next to a cross.

Location 3

Okay, time for the third map! Fast travel to Zhelejov and go to the tavern there. Leave the settlement and cross the two bridges that take you towards Tachov. Immediately after crossing the second bridge, look for a small path that branches off towards the river and the forest. Take that path. Keep going until you spot a hill. Climb up the hill, and look for a large tree at the top. Examine the base of that tree – you’ll find some bones there, and also a bag containing the final piece of the armor.

Location 4

You’re on the hunt for the last piece of Brunswick’s armor, and the fourth map leads you to a hill situated between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Once you’re on that hill, search for some more rocks with a cross on top. That’s where you’ll find the final piece you need!
