As you investigate around Paradis and track down the group Sapiento sent to find the adra, you learn that their shipment was lost when their ship sank. With no other option, they resorted to taking adra from the Vailian Trading Company, which infuriates Captain Bardatto. 

Once you secure the luminous adra from Trevik, you can use the marked location on the map to decide how to handle the situation with the captain. At this point, players in Avowed are faced with a critical choice.

If you refuse to hand over the adra to Captain Bardatto, she won’t take no for an answer and will resort to force. Along with her entire crew, and a massive bear, she will attack you and your companions in Avowed, determined to claim the adra. 

To protect Trevik and his friends, you must defeat them in battle. Once victorious, return to Sapiento with the good news and deliver the adra. Overjoyed, the alchemist will reward you with The Fantastic Alembic, a unique trinket that removes status accumulations when drinking any potion. With renewed hope, Sapiento will retreat to his lab, eager to begin work on the magical cure.

On the other hand, if you choose to give the luminous adra to Captain Bardatto, you can at least ensure she spares Trevik and his friends. While she will be satisfied with the deal, she won’t offer any reward unless you negotiate for one. 

Unfortunately, breaking the news to Sapiento that you no longer have the adra will devastate him. Though he will understand your choice to protect Trevik and the others, he will be left wondering if his cure could have ever been completed. With no adra to work with, his dream fades, and players receive no rewards for this decision.
