PEAK: How to Get and Use Parasol

Mesa update in PEAK brings new challenges with interesting survival utilities. Parasol is undoubtedly one of these. Besides shade, it protects players from Mesa’s stifling sun, and also serves as a glider to land safely. This guide will lead you through the steps of locating the Parasol and using it accordingly.

    Where to Find the Parasol

Right before entering Mesa, you can grab a Parasol. After getting past the climb onto the Tropics, you’ll hit a bonfire checkpoint. Watch Luggage scattered around the bonfire, particularly concerning the white ones, which often include a Parasol. After getting it, assign the Parasol to an item slot so you can easily use it anytime.

    Why It’s Worth Using

Mesa introduces a nasty heat mechanic: standing in direct sunlight causes burn buildup, draining stamina and health fast. Normally, you’d have to dart from shadow to shadow to stay safe. With the Parasol equipped, you can open it before stepping out into the light, giving you full protection from the sun’s damage.

The item also works as a glider. If you’re dropping from one of Mesa’s tall cliffs or pillars, open the Parasol midair to slow your fall and completely avoid damage. It’s a simple trick, but it makes looting and traveling across Mesa’s vertical terrain much smoother.
