Path of Exile 2 Ingenuity Utility Belt – How to Get

The Ingenuity Utility Belt in Path of Exile 2 is something very few can claim, but those who can combine rarity with some real utility to boot. In other words, a must-have for many. Obtained through the defeat of the King in the Mists, a pretty formidable endgame Ritual Boss, getting there does take some prep. Whether you are fighting through waves of enemies to get the belt or looking for an alternative method of obtaining it, understanding how is the way forward. The following guide is all-encompassing information that one should have regarding obtaining the Ingenuity Utility Belt and steps taken in the process to face the King in the Mists.

How to Get Ingenuity Utility Belt

Ingenuity is a rare reward for defeating the King in the Mists, the final Ritual Boss unlocked by using the “An Audience With the King” item on the Atlas Realmgate. To face the King, you’ll first battle through waves of enemies before the ultimate showdown.

If you succeed, you might earn the Ingenuity Utility Belt as a reward. However, it’s not guaranteed, as the King can drop one of five unique items, including The Burden of Shadows Chiming Staff, Beetlebite Velour Shoes, and From Nothing Diamond. Fortunately, Ingenuity drops about once every five victories, making it a fairly attainable prize.

The King in the Mists is a great endgame boss encounter with multiple difficulty tiers that slowly build up the challenge as the boss’s power increases with each raised level. However, that added challenge also means the fight can be much more rewarding because of the better drop chances at higher difficulties.

Fortunately, many of his attacks are similar to those used by the King in the Mists from Act 1 in Freythorn, giving players a chance to familiarize themselves with his mechanics beforehand.

If grinding for the Ingenuity Utility Belt feels too risky or time-consuming, you can purchase it from the official PoE 2 trade site for 15–50 Divine Orbs, depending on its rolls. This will be a little costlier for you, but still, it is doable if you can save a belt with a good rating. Ingenuity Utility Belt, while not something that drops to someone automatically, does drop relatively seldom.

    How to find the King

You can obtain “An Audience with the King” through two main methods. The first one is through the trading website or currency exchange, which might typically cost 4-7 Divine Orbs. The second one would be Ritual Maps, and the item sometimes might appear as a Ritual Favor, but its price is a whopping 2700-3900 Tribute, which nobody can afford instantly.

You secure this by deferring the item, finding it in the “Favors” menu, and selecting “Defer”. The result is that the item will appear in a future Ritual with this item costing less. It usually comes back in 1–4 Ritual maps, provided all the relevant conditions are met. Players should defer the item until they can afford it.

If you get “An Audience with the King” but aren’t ready to kill the endgame boss, there are other alternatives. You can ask for a carry from other players for 1–2 Divine Orbs, which will allow you to earn Ritual points on the Atlas and some rewards. You can also sell the item if you don’t want to use it yourself.
