The Colossal Bone is a much-sought crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds, required to upgrade equipment and craft great weapons and armor. This walkthrough will give you the complete breakdown on how to most effectively get the rare material through hunting designated monsters, and tell you about how you can effectively use it in order to buff your hunter’s equipment.

The Colossal Bone is a rare crafting material (Rarity 6) carved from the bodies of certain monsters. If you’re looking to gather this item, here’s where you should focus your hunt:

    • High-rank Conga: Head to the Scarlet Forest to find these small monsters. They often appear near their larger counterpart, the Congalala. Be aware that low-rank Congas won’t drop Colossal Bones,  you’re more likely to get Brute Bones from them instead.
    • High-rank Blango: These beasts can be found in the Iceshard Cliff region.

Just a heads-up, you won’t find Colossal Bones in bone piles scattered across the map, so stick to monster hunts if you want to collect this rare material!

Here’s a simple way to track down and farm Congas and Blango for a chance to get a Colossal Bone:

    1. Fast travel to the Scarlet Forest/Iceshard Cliff using the World Map.
    2. Open the local map once you arrive.
    3. In the bottom-left corner, select Filter Icons.
    4. Navigate to Small Monsters and choose Conga/Blango from the list.
    5. Select Set Highlight — this will mark all Congas on the map with blue dots.
    6. Hover over a marked Conga/Blango and press the button shown at the bottom of the screen to Set Waypoint.
    7. Use Seikret’s Auto-move Mode to automatically head to the selected Conga.
    8. Once you reach the Conga/Blango, defeat it and carve its body for a shot at getting a Colossal Bone.
    9. Repeat Steps 6-8 to quickly track down and farm more Congas/Blangos across the map.

I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets.
