To unlock the Proxima shell in Mortal Shell 2, you’ll want to focus on completing the prologue which grants you access to the shell’s location. Unlike Tiel shell, Proxima shell isn’t just something you can typically reach early, it’s located much deeper to the north in the forests and you’ll encounter multiple enemies along the path towards the shell. In this guide, you’ll be walked through the exact steps to reach the shell, what you need to do to quickly traverse the enemy infested areas before you start and what enemies you can expect while you’re traversing through the path to the shell. You’ll also learn about Proxima’s skills and combat advantages it offers.
Widow’s Overlook Beacon
After you complete the prologue and arrive at Marrows Keep, head through the doorway at the top of the flight of stairs where the Npc is positioned. Go through the entrance to reach the Ovum storage room, and continue past the room to reach an area deeper into the keep to reach the elevator that leads to the top of the keep. Once you’re up, make your way to the teleporter on the north side and use it to teleport to the closest destination, Widow’s Overlook.
Path to Proxima Shell
After you teleport to Widow’s Overlook, keep moving by following the path on the north side of the beacon. As you traverse, you’ll eventually come across a trial area, navigate past the trail and continue forward along the route until you reach the next area with a bridge. You’ll encounter 2 flying hostile creatures, you can either kill them or just go past them and cross the bridge to reach the next beacon.
After you activate the beacon, you can start pushing forward through the area by following the path on the right side of the beacon, then continue up the hill. This route will lead you to the Blackridge Cliffs where you’ll notice few enemies fighting in the area. You can decide if you want to fight them, otherwise you can also opt for avoiding the conflict altogether. On the left, there’s a small narrow path that will lead you to the beacon where Proxima shell is located.
Proxima Shell
Interact with the beacon to head inside the beacon’s space, continue inside until you come to the Proxima Shell. Interact with the shell, this will play a brief cutscene showing origins of the shell memories and you’ll automatically equip the Proxima shell.
Proxima’s Ability: Biosampler
Each shell in Mortal Shell 2 has its own unique ability, and Proxima’s special ability is called Biosampler. When you use the following skill, Proxima fires a hook onto the targeted enemy, pulling them closer, following up with an attack and infusing them with lightning which triggers a shockwave. This impacts and inflicts damage onto the enemy while also reducing the enemy’s riposte.
