How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration Marvel Rivals

If you are having a hard time aiming well in Marvel Rivals, then the problem may be mouse acceleration. This setting causes your mouse to be less responsive and sometimes “stuck” in fast-paced FPS games. Disabling mouse acceleration helps you improve your precision and feel smoother in-game. While mouse acceleration was enabled by default in previous versions of the game, most players find it best to turn it off to play the game. In this guide, we will show you how to easily disable mouse acceleration and fine-tune your settings for smoother gameplay.

How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration

There are two ways to disable mouse acceleration in Marvel Rivals. The first method is through Windows settings, which allows you to turn off the feature without modifying game files. To do this, open the Windows search bar and type “Mouse.” Select “Mouse Settings,” then scroll down to “Related Settings” and choose “Additional Mouse Settings.”

In the Pointer Options tab, untick “Enhance pointer precision” and select “Apply.” This will disable mouse acceleration across your entire Windows system, affecting all uses outside of the game. If you’d prefer to disable the setting only for Marvel Rivals without impacting other applications, you can modify the game files.

Start by opening Windows Explorer and pasting the following path into the search bar, replacing “C” with the drive where Marvel Rivals is installed, and “yourname” with your user profile name: C:\Users”yourname” | appdata\local\marvel\saved\config\windows. Locate the “GameUserSettings” file, open it with Notepad, and add the following lines at the end of the script:

[/Script/Engine.InputSettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False

Save these changes and then restart the game to apply the new settings.

Mouse Acceleration in Marvel Rivals

Mouse acceleration can be a pretty confusing setting, especially in fast-paced games like Marvel Rivals. The result of having this option turned on is often that your aim feels “stuck” or otherwise unresponsive, making hitting your targets much harder. If you have been experiencing frustrations with aiming, disabling this option should help.

Mouse acceleration was, by default, enabled before; this has led to frustrations with many players. However, if you are accustomed to the default playstyle, you can leave it on without any issue.

Mouse acceleration works by adjusting your sensitivity based on character movement, which can be confusing for many FPS players. While some characters, like Scarlet Witch, benefit from aim-assist, other duelists can find it more challenging with mouse acceleration enabled.

In addition to preventing acceleration, you can adjust mouse smoothing to have a very smooth experience free of jitters. You will gain better control when using the slowed-down system, in which you can spend more time killing enemies with your favourite characters.
