Restoring the Karakorum Power Plant is a multi stage objective that powers the Observatory and progresses the main story. It requires clearing the Angle Comb, unlocking Auxm Vision, repairing the turbine by using large quantities of resources and restoring the Power Plant. This guide shows exactly how to restore the power plant so that you can fix the plant and progress the story.
Note : You need to unlock Auxm Vision adaptation to restore the Power Plant, if you don’t have the adaptation, check out my guide on How to unlock Auxm Vision Adaptation.
Restoring The Power Plant
Power Plant restoration takes place in a multi step process where you need to restore the bottom and top section of the power plant.
Restoring Bottom Section of the Power Plant

Look for this chamber around the Alien Comb and head inside the chamber. There’s a terminal inside the chamber that you need to restore, interact with the alien hand symbol first then click on the pink orb.

This will drop the power plant’s heat pipe onto the ground, you can also scan the heat pipe using the Bioscanner.
Restoring Top Section of the Power Plant

Then head to the top chamber which is above the bottom chamber that you just visited.

But before you head inside the top chamber, look at the power plant right opposite to the chamber. You’ll notice that the power plant’s turbine is broken and you need to fix it before restoring the plant.
Fixing the Turbine
Download the information for resources required to fix the turbine from the log note left by previous survivors.

You need 10 titanium ingots, 10 strontium and 10 mangalloy ingots to fix the turbine. After you’ve gathered the resources, you can fix the turbine using the habitat builder.

Then head inside the top chamber and you’ll notice that there are 3 terminals inside. You need to position the controls on these terminals such that the arrows are pointing each other as shown in above images.

Then interact with the central terminal, this will start and restore the Karakorum Power Plant restoring power to the Observatory.
Progressing the Main Story

Then head to the entrance of the Observatory and you’ll notice that the entrance is now open. Head inside to progress the story which marks the end of the early access story, but you can still explore the world, build a base etc.
