Wormways is an early-game optional area in Hollow Knight: Silksong, filled with loot, Tools, and useful resources. To enter, you need a Simple Key, usually purchased from Bone Bottom for 500 Rosaries. This guide focuses on reaching Wormways by dropping down through Shellwood, showing you how to navigate hazards, recover Silk from enemies, and collect useful items like the Dead Bug’s Purse along the way.
Dropping Down Through Shellwood
This route takes you through Shellwood, continuing to the left until you find an opening to drop down toward Bone Bottom. Stick to the left wall as you float down to find the secret entrance to Wormways. Enemies here are capable of hurting you, but damaging them restores Silk, which is used to heal mask shards. The Dead Bug’s Purse is located farther down; this charm will let you retain some of your Rosaries upon being defeated. Later on, following the vertical path will lead to a lever that opens the same door requiring the Simple Key, thus giving you full access to the Wormways.
Note: Another way to reach Wormways is from Bellway Station in The Marrow. Head left past the Mosshome bench, exit outside, and jump onto the hanging elevator. Dash left to find the passage, stay low to avoid the poison-spitting enemy, and cross the room to the door where you can use your Simple Key to enter.
