In Monster Hunter Wilds, Tier 8 Artian Weapon Parts are rare materials dropped by Tempered Monsters in High Rank quests. These parts are crucial for crafting powerful Artian weapons. This guide will help you farm them efficiently, detailing the best hunting strategies and crafting requirements.
What are Artian Weapons in MH Wilds
Artian Weapons are a new weapon type in Monster Hunter Wilds, crafted using three different materials. After completing Chapter 4-3, you’ll start earning Artian Materials from Tempered Monster hunts. These monsters are tougher, more experienced versions of regular creatures. If you haven’t encountered them yet, be prepared for a greater challenge.
Each Tempered Monster hunt rewards Artian Materials, which are appraised similarly to Decorations. You won’t know exactly what you’ve obtained at first, but you can see the material’s rarity level on the map. This is important because crafting stronger Artian Weapons requires all materials to be of the same rarity.
To craft an Artian Weapon, visit Gemma, where you’ll need three parts that vary by weapon type. For example, the Insect Glaive requires a Blade, Tube, and Device. Each part has an Element Type and an Artian Bonus. The element of your weapon is determined by the majority of parts. For instance, selecting two Paralysis parts and one Fire part will result in a Paralysis-element weapon. However, if all three parts have different elements, the weapon won’t have an element at all.
The Artian Bonus is either Affinity Infusion or Attack Infusion, which boosts affinity or attack respectively. Unlike Element Type, you can mix and match these bonuses freely. Once your Artian Weapon is crafted, you can reinforce it to enhance its stats, similar to upgrading armour with Armor Spheres. Instead of spheres, you’ll need specific ores, obtained by smelting monster parts in Azuz or occasionally receiving them as Festival Share rewards from the Smelting Foundry.
Ores like Drearisite or Oricalcite grant Reinforcement Bonuses, which can boost attack, elemental damage, affinity, sharpness, and more. If you ever stop using an Artian Weapon, you can dismantle it to reclaim some materials.
Note: Artian Parts are exclusively used for crafting weapons. So, if you recall this material from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne or Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, keep in mind that you won’t be able to use it for armour. You’ll still need to hunt monsters to obtain the armour pieces you want.
How to Farm for Artian Weapon in MH Wilds
Crafting Artian Weapons differs significantly from Low Rank or High Rank armaments. Instead of following a set upgrade path, you must choose three parts to create a viable combination. Here are some key points to remember:
- All selected parts must share the same rarity (Rank 6, 7, or 8).
- Each part has either an elemental or status ailment property.
- If at least two materials share the same property, the weapon will inherit that effect. However, if all three materials have different properties, the weapon will be non-elemental.
Example:
- Selecting 2x Thunder and 1x Sleep results in a Thunder-element weapon.
- Choosing 1x Thunder, 1x Sleep, and 1x Dragon creates a non-elemental weapon instead.
How to Get Tier 8 Artian Weapon Parts
If you’re wondering how to get Artian Tier 8 weapon parts, you’ll need to complete Investigations at Higher Rank 7. Story missions don’t count—only Investigations do.
A good method is using an SOS Flare to find Investigations, ensuring they are tempered. You can check rewards before selecting a quest—if you see the red Artian weapon part, winning the hunt will grant you a Tier 8 weapon material.
Alternatively, you can set up your own Investigation against tempered monsters like the Nu Udra, but you must locate them on your map first. These Investigations aren’t always available, so using SOS Flares increases your chances.
